animus and cringe
The animus has always been odd to me, and honestly would be much better without it.

However they have never been too bad.

Origins on the other hand, is just cringy.

"So aggro" ugh. Just let the animus part die already...

Op is right. Just drop this animus sidestory, its really enough. No one needs that and the whole idea of DNA coded memories of past generations is just iffy. The next Assassins Creed game should just take place in an ancient setting.

well, without the animus you would have no trail of the gods for example since it is not more than a animus glitch.

They already made games in which you were playing someone who uses the animus withotu any "real world" interaction with it.

But if they completely remove the animus it would not be assassins creed anymore which would not be a problem if they find a new name for it.

I feel like it would be relatively easy to come up with a plot device as weak as the animus to allow you to fight gods. You literally fight a god already in a priest-induced dream. :P

I also think that you might be placing too much emphasis on the modern day elements which haven't really mattered since Desmond, when we were trying to stop the end of the world (lol 2012).

I figure the point of AC is the creed itself and what it means to each of the assassins, which shapes their personalities (or often, lack thereof).

again, the whole frenchise is build up on the idea of humans having rememberings of thair ancestores in thair dna and about the animus as machine to see those rememberings. That is the core idia of the creator of assassins creed and so its the core element of the whole assassins creed universe.

If they reomove the animus they have to find a new name not related to the series or at least delimiting from the rest of the series.

Again, they could make it like unity and syndicate in which you are playing someone who uses the animus without any "real world" sequenzes.

The animus is the glue that holds the story together, it's acceptable as a means to drive the plot. It gives an explanation for why we're jumping randomly between different periods of time.

I like how they handled the animus in this game, they kept it to a minimum so they could focus on the actual fun game part

the animus isn't the sidestory!!! its the main story!!! all the assassins that we play as are the sidestories!!!

correct, because the historical setting is nothing more but the simulation of the rememberings in the dna your player character experience which makes the player character who uses the animus a sort of main character of the story.

But i think ac games has 2 main characters because the characters in the real world story specifically search for the rememberings of the historical figure you play.

In unity and syndicate i am not shure about this, you never see or directly play/controle your "real world" main character but it is still the character you actually play and who experience rememberings in the animus.

And it's people like you that turned it into Ezio's Creed after AC2... Who the eff cares about ezio's effin life!!! he was cool for 1 installment... the next two... ResidentSleeper!!!!!!

um no, i was cool with Ezio for one game too, seemed forced and lazy sticking him into the rest, and now we can dress as him lol
