Investigating Input Stuttering Issue
Hello Hunters!

We’re currently investigating an issue where the game appears to stutter relative to player actions.

If you are currently experiencing this issue as described in this thread , please send us the text contents of your DxDiag (open DxDiag and “Save All Information…”) and the graphics_option.ini (typically found in the folder: Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\). Simply copy the text contents of each file and paste it to Pastebin so we can download on our end.

While we can’t confirm a fix is possible at this time, as mentioned above, we are actively investigating the issue and the information you provide will greatly assist our process.

Thank you!

Wow this problem is still ongoing almost 2 years later? Color me surprised. If you all still don’t think it’s related to greed and poorly implemented copyright protection please go buy a clue. So glad I never bought Iceborn. They lost half a dozen customers just in my small group due to this. If this doesn’t prove Satan is running the world I don’t know what does.

Please chill. I appreciate your strength of feeling but the chance of this matter being addressed is small enough already. Besides you preaching to the choir, the cleaner we can keep the thread the better.

Apart from the sketchy theology, that is not being questioned.

I don't know whether this update broke the loader again but I assume so.
Once it gets updated it's probably worth testing Asterisk's performance plugin to fix what Capcom can't or won't.
Plenty of people noticed a marked improvement so it's currently the best tool available to us AFAIK.

Special K works in this game again, just FYI. And the latest Steam beta version of Special K has an even better framerate limiter that'll probably completely eliminate the residual issue for most people here.

Set the SwapChain to 6 buffers, max device latency to 7 and enable flip model in the D3D11 settings.

@Kaldaien

That's great news, thank you. You're the hero we need.

I've requested a beta key in the link you provided, but are you also suggesting that the last SpK release for MHW should work ok too? Because I can't seem to get the game to load with it, even with the latest VC++ package and the following added to the dxgi.ini file:
[Steam.Log]
Silent=true

Or is the beta version required for it to even work at all, now?

Edit: Got the beta key, works no problem, can disregard previous question.

@Kaldaien I think I did this incorrectly and my game crashed and now gives me a black screen when I start it up. I set the backbuffer count to 6, max device latency to 7 and clicked the checkmark to use the flip model presentation. I deleted the special K file for MH and started it again to make a new clean one but it didn't change anything.
Any idea of what I did wrong and how I could fix the black screen?

No mods installed fam, files verified, game reinstalled. Doesn't launch, not even a black screen, just get a perpetual loading cursor.

So it's confirmed...

  • Every major update: massive input stuttering (very annoying)
  • Every minor update: little input stuttering (it's ok for me)

The only way to completely fix this is either use the AsteriskAmpersand's performance mod... or wait for Capcom to remove all of those checks after each input (seems unlikely to happen).
