RIP Denuvo
Looks like today's patch removed Denuvo from the game, seeing as the game's exe shrank in filesize quite a bit.

hopefully rise won't have it at all, i know when iceborne added it in it made the game unplayable for me with how badly it tanked my performance

Thank God, holy crap. I was waiting for this!

Denuvo was there at launch. It wasn't added in iceborne.

Stop blaming issues on things you don't understand.

Most probably Rise will have Denuvo too until finishing its live support as just did MHW and every other "Big sale" from capcom for example every Resident Evil.
At least they remove it after the time period ends which is great.

Stories 2, on the steam store page says it requires Denuvo, so I doubt Rise won't have it

literally deleted the game from my library just because it had denuvo, i'll buy it again.
even tho i used to meet the sys requirements, i had issues and crashes, as my old CPU and hard disk just could not bear with the game's DRM.

Capcom always removes it after a game gets too old. when it's well past it's prime. though i love when it when they do it simply to watch all the tin foil hat conspiracy nut jobs pretend like some great evil was lifted when it actually did nothing more than make sure your copy was legit.

and all the pretenders acting like "they would have bought the game, but..." or "I had the game but totally deleted it because deunvo" those are my favorites.

Maybe now their placebo will help them sleep at night.

Below will be a list of timed edits, as this is a sensitive topic and since deunvo trolls will try to spout the same debunked arguments they will no doubt take swipes at this point when they are called out on their ignorance, it's to avoid having to make 50 posts correcting them on the same things that were proven to be false long ago.

Edit: Same old debunked excuses used:

A: "My pc magically runs better now that it's gone!!!" (debunked long ago, TLDR: they are full of it)

B: The ever reliable "this other random game runs worse because deunvo!" (try running the game on a PC past 2010)"

C: "Useless! It doesn't stop piracy (nothing stops piracy, self explanatory, laws don't stop bad people from doing illegal things either)

D: "Now i can buy the game cause the Cyber boogie man won't steal my info!" (lmao)

To people who actually know what they are talking about removing it made absolutely no difference other than a slightly lighter game file

Edit 2: One of the usual known deunvo trolls swoops in with his "this part is dumb because it pertains to me" posts, they were debunked, "200%" better, you're not even trying, it was running the exact same for them, with or without, it's called them and you being full of it for the sake of an argument on matters you don't understand (you also used ironic wrong learn words before you use them). sorry, you'll have to get over the fact you're clueless how it actually works.

At this point i'm not going to keep updating, i have better things to do (and games to play) then keep checking this topic to teach those who cannot be taught, unless someone actually comes with a VALID argument that hasn't be used before and proven wrong already (extremely unlikely) and the only one to come up was the space freed, which is indeed a fact. i'm just going to move on. this is a never ending debate because misery loves company.

Couldn't have said it better myself, it's excellent. Store page also doesn't have the DRM notification anymore, so it seems to indeed be gone. Shame they'll continue to use it on new releases until sales drop off and/or the contract expires. I have to wonder if the amounts of money these companies throw at stuff like Denuvo is even warranted, but that's a discussion for another day.

Placebo? it got rid of around 500 mb of bloated code in a minute, all my freezing problems got erased, the game loads faster. And ive only tested a couple of minutes.

Not too hard to figure out it's gone. The exe dropped from over 500mb down to 82.

this is always good news.
