How do you use the Glider Mantle?

I jump down somewhere wearing the mantle and nothing happens

is there a button you have to press?

You need to slot it into your equipment wheel and select to use it like an item/potion.

Go coral highland, the place where u fight legiana, if u go to the end u will see hot air rising. Jump down with your mantle and the hot air will propel u all the way up to the place where legiana sleeps.
You can also use it and glide as u use your grappling hook and swing from one grapple to another ...
