Error Code 83-MW1 Apparent Fix

Just sharing what has *so far* fixed the constant 83-MW1 issues I was having.

Open Steam Settings
Go to "In Game"
Disable Steam Overlay and Big Picture

Open MHW Properties
Add Launch Option
-nofriendsui -udp

I cant promise it'll work for you, but so far, its worked for me. Good luck!

What does -nofriendsui do?

EDIT: Found it. It starts Steam, not the game, without the new friends list.
That command would do nothing when added to the MH Launch commands

I didn't know Steam had a UDP Mode. Maybe it's just for MH:W and a few other games. Anyway if any of these options is having an effect, it would be -udp as UDP and TCP are Internet protocols that handle traffic differently. TCP Needs acknowledgements that the traffic sent is received before sending more where as UDP just sends data without caring if it reaches its destination. If there's an issue with TCP but UDP is fine, that could mean there's some server issues sending acknowledgements causing the data to just stop being sent.

Connections on both ends can screw up how TCP works, though people with no issues on there connections are having this problem so it seems like it might be an issue with either their servers or possibly the net code.
