NVIDIA are not fixing their drivers for Monster Hunter World (yet?)
"No changes to Monster Hunter World as we have not yet been able to reproduce an instance with the older drivers are performing better than the newer drivers."

from https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1069467/geforce-drivers/official-399-07-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-8-27-18-/5/

I have emailed, submitted feeback but its worthless if Nividia claims to unable to reproduce the issues on their end. However, you may submit a driver feedback if you wish to contribute https://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6

EDIT: A fix to the difference of FPS performance people have been experiencing with the latest game ready drivers for Monster Hunter.

These are the steps I took that reproduced improved FPS stability and performance in 399.07, reproducing the same improved performance noticed in 398.36.

1) Uninstalled older driver
2) Installed latest driver update
3) Open Nvidia Inspector Tool (you have to install this, it lets you access the profiles that came with your drivers)
4) Delete Monster Hunter World Profile (Type "Monster" in it's search bar and it will list all Monster Hunter games, find MHW)
5) Open Monster Hunter World (You do not have to restart your PC)
6) Enjoy

NEW UPDATE REGARDING 411.63 PLEASE READ: While FPS seems stable in places such as Rotten Vale as it was in 398.36 however a new issue has been introduced if you haven't noticed already...Screen flickers every now and then.

To fix the Screen Flicker follow the steps outlined above with the use of Inspector Tool as this is again, related to Nvidia Profile Overrides. You are welcome to submit your own feedback regarding the new driver on their official thread: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1072459/geforce-drivers/official-411-63-game-ready-whql-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-9-19-18-/?offset=151#5876439

How can it be Nvidia inspector if I dont have it....

Nvidia inpector is a tool that lets you edit/remove/add profiles. Those profiles are there if you use an Nvidia card, without nvidia inspector you just cant access them.

thats because there is no issue with the driver. This has been said a billion times. it has to do with the Nvidia inspector profile.... delete the damn bad profile and be done with it....

no amount of drivers Nvidia can release will ever fix this for you.

B-but it can't be the user's fault! It must be the company! Any, all of them!

I'm with an i7 860 3.3Ghz (OC) and a GTX 1060. No crashes and no visual bugs. The drivers are fine.

The performance issue is with the game. Although I'm happy with 60+ FPS most of the time, while having a few hickups in Rotten Vale.

...

The Nvidia display driver profiles are shipped alongside the display drivers themselves... The solution, basically, is for Nvidia to remove that broken profile from their display drivers and stop shipping it to people.

It doesn't matter if people manually remove the profile from the Nvidia display drivers using the third-party Nvidia Inspector tool. That profile will be reinstalled alongside the next Nvidia display driver until Nvidia removes it.

Nvidia can also ship an actual working profile for the game as well in the next display driver, instead of removing the profile entirely. That would also fix the issue.

They politely told you that they dont see a ♥♥♥♥ing difference in performance upon changing drivers.

Also yeah, i see no change either.

Yeah, I recall mention a while back about the profile for mhw having incorrect settings by default, and not pkaying nice with the game.

One of which was causing ansel to try and hook into mhw even though mhw is not on the whitelist.
(Which caused no end of headaches for Kaldaien's project...)

Note that Ansel does that with /all/ games; not only Monster Hunter World. It is apparently because Nvidia seems to have various "levels" of integration, where the global setting for Ansel is configured by default to hook all processes using the display drivers, whether the process actually uses Ansel or not. After that initial step, Ansel seems to determine whether the process is actually whitelisted or not, and if it is, further integrates itself into the game.

So if I were to summarize it, we're basically talking about different "levels" of hooking for Ansel:

Level 0: Completely disabled. Ansel doesn't hook anything.
Level 1: Ansel is globally enabled, and hooks everything that uses the display drivers.
Level 2: Ansel detects that it is running in a whitelisted application, and further integrates itself into the process. Using Ansel is now possible.

Why they do this, I do not know. But it is annoying and can cause issues with other third-party stuff.

This.

I dont belive this is the case. The bad profile is from the beta driver and is not getting overridden by newer profile from new drivers.

I rolled back and there is undeniably an increase in performance and fps.
Was clear as day !
