"Kicked from Server: host closed connection" - Please submit logs.
Hi all, we've seen a couple of reports over the last few weeks of players getting a message along the lines of "Kicked from Server: host closed connection", restarting Steam seems to solve this issue a lot of the time, however as this is only affecting a very small percentage of players with seemingly no clear connection our team require additional information to investigate.

For those affected by this, first please try re-starting Steam, if the issue still persists, please grab the game logs for the date at which it happened (found in the "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Insurgency\Saved\Logs" folder) and send them to us along with your SteamID64 (or link to your Steam profile page) via the e-mail below.


Please add the error message or description into the e-mail so we can search through the reports, and ensure you use MatchMaking so we can cross-check it on our side.

Thanks for all your support so far, we have altered the matchmaking servers to report more details in the logs, for affected users, please use the matchmaking and resend your new log files.

NOTE: Please only use Matchmaking ("Find Game") when posting your logs, as community servers do not have enough logging to diagnose the error, we need to cross check on our backend.


Update 1/12/18

We've just released an update with a potential fix for the "Kicked from Server: host closed connection" error some players were experiencing. Please let us know in this thread if you are still experiencing issues.

This seem to happen when a server change map. I experienced this when the server first start up. After playing the first map, I get "Kicked from Server: host closed connection" when map change. I hope you guys can fix this issue. I will make sure to submit my log files.

I just restarted steam and it does not matter. Also I dont even get a gamelog. I don't have map that is called \Saved in my Insurgency folder.

There are people on this forum that have uninstalled steam and the game and reinstalled after that. The issue is still there. So a simple solution like restarting steam won't solve this.

What you as a developer should do is compare all the server/connection settings prepatch to the settings post patch and investigate the differences. Maybe some parameters show up that have changed that should not have changed.

I am on the Europe server for some extra information.

Black "bug" textures of some stones, rocks and shrubs are very striking and spoils the visual perception.
This is such a special bug "Unreal Engine 4" which was seen in many games built on it for example in "Fortnite" which was fixed by a patch.
Tried all sorts of settings, nothing helped. Maybe there's something in the config file to configure that would fix this?
How to fix it and will it be fixed by developers?

Me too, I am on the Europe server.
0% ... 99% and "Kicked from Server: host closed connection".

Not sure if it helps, but it seems to happen to my brother when we get refinery twice in a row pretty reliably.

I read something about putting the EasyAnticheat from manual to automatic. when i tried that it worked! i played 3 matches orso when i left the session to get a drink. when i wanted to start a new matchmaking game it did the error all over again. I tried to switched it back and forth bitween manual and automatic but it never worked again. I think it has something to do with Easyanticheat.

I found !!
The problem is my Logitech driver update.
It is related to Discord.
If I have the 3 together, it crashes.
Discord + Driver Logitech + Insurgency Sandstrom = Broken.
I can play all my other games.

seemed to be fixed for the last two weeks after changing EastAntiCheat service to automatic and as of today i'm getting the same annoying error again when loading into a game... kicked from server host closed connection. WTF?

I've been having this issue since beta 2 started, no problems during beta 1 tho and i have found no pattern regarding these disconnects. Sometimes i can play 2 hours straight, sometimes 2 minutes before i get disconnected. I'll send the log file

I have had this issue for a while now and would love to help as well, but I also do not have any "Saved" or "Logs" file for Insurgency. I love playing this game, but can only play one match before this error happens indefinitely. Really anticipating a fix to this gamebreaking issue.

Restarting Steam works, but after 2 or 3 matches it happens again
