Access is denied (EAC)
I cannot get passed the EAC as it is giving me a block.

Tl;dr

Was playing the game around the 31st or the 1st
Decided to click the "give feedback button" before deciding to take a break
Malwarebytes goes haywire and blocks an executable
Restored everything, did all the basic repairs.
Now I get an access is denied now for no apparent reason.

try verifying steam cache.
Buckholms Sep 1, 2018 @ 7:40pm
Still given me a launch error, but without the tag this time. Access Denied is what it says. I was just playing it today so I don't understand.

Are you running on 32 or 64 bit Windows?

^

Also, this may happen if your security software blocked the executable so be sure to whitelist entire "Sandstorm" directory and then verify game files in Steam.

Yes, I had Malwarebytes block that specific tag when I clicked the "give feedback button or whatever". I'm starting to vaguely remember my problem. I'm running 64 bit.

Edit: Verified game cache, didn't replace any file or files this time, started the game and it's still given me a access is denied error during the loading box before the game launches.

Here's a good detailed discription of what I remember, it was a long night so I'll try my best:

I was playing the game, played several matches, got to like level 6 or so, was having a blast despite the poor random stutter.

I was about to go take a break and I see a "send feedback button" or whatever it said so I clicked on it. Apparently when I clicked on this, it sent me to a site in which I exited out of since Malwarebytes freaked the hell out and must have blocked the ** Insurgency\Binaries\Win64\InsurgencyClient-Win64-Shipping.exe **

I ran a verify game cache run as suggested, and it replaced the file I mentioned. I check the logs in Malwarebytes, sure enough its in Quarantine (perhaps the previous missing one)
Restored that one.

Launched the game... loads the bar half way or so and "Access is denied" with no explaination as to why I'm being denied. Uninstalled the Anti-cheat program and re-installed it did nothing. Putting -force64 in the game didn't change anything.

I would highly NOT want to re-install. I have boonies internet so I'll take all day and kill my bandwidth.

Hmm, I think your anti-virus could be the problem. Can you adding the game to the program's exception list?

https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-1263

Then, I'd also recommend adding a website exception for the Focus forums. Since that's what you clicked and from the sounds of it, causing all of this hassle.

If all of that still fails, I'd make sure you disable the anti-virus (turn it off completely) and turn of Windows Defender as well. Test the game and see what happens.

I did everything you told me to do and the easyanticheat loading screen before the game launches will still give me an "Access is denied"

I don't believe Malwarebytes to be the reason for the access denied, but I do believe it to be the cause since after the executable block the game won't work no matter how many times I verify the game files. I added exclutions, disabled windows defender.

I disabled malwarebytes just to see if that was it, nope, game still gives me an access is denied.

Here, let me show you all a picture so you can see what I see when I load the game up now

This message seems to be related to EAC itself rather than the game executable. Same process: whitelist, reinstall, etc.

From my googling sometimes certain Windows compatibility flags may display this message as well.

So I am forced to re-install since whitelisting doesn't help? The steam app folder for sandstorm is added to exclution.

That's a big blow since I don't have a fast connection. What would re-installing do if this is a EAC related issue though, wouldn't I still be given an access denied the moment the EAC is re-installed? There's already an option to repair, uninstall, and re-install this EAC and still no solution.

I wan't to completely know if there's any other way to get the EAC to work and to confirm that this reinstallation is neccesarily for the EAC to work properly before deciding to do so.
Buckholms Sep 2, 2018 @ 9:18am
Am I banned because of a false positive from Malwarebytes conflicting with the EAC? Or would the EAC directly say I'm banned? Access is denied with no reasons as to why sounds pretty strict.

Yes, I can. The error is direct with no reason as to why access is denied.
