Hi! Which engine you're used in development? :)

Hi pinkerator -- we've used Unity, though I have to admit we've done some serious surgery to it! Perhaps the biggest stuff is all custom lighting and rendering, and streaming tech to get an open world with very little loading time on startup, and then seamless streaming when in game.

We always find engine discussions an interesting topic -- not many developers want to admit that it doesn't really matter as much anymore, there's pro's and con's but an engine is only a starting point very early on in the process. You should be investing in and creating the specific technologies your game needs and not relying on engines to provide it all.

Thank you for detailed answer! I see you're releasing on PC+PS4 for now. Have you got some plans for Xbox One version in the future?

I think looking into a Switch version would be a really great move. Imagine the game on the move, awesome!

So we just announced a Nintendo Switch version of Yonder today. Coming real soon.
