Will Ys VIII use Denuvo? (Please say no)
I'm excited for Ys VIII, but am just guarding myself against making a preorder purchase for games these days in case they sneak Denuvo into them (case in point, Sonic Mania). Can anyone on the publisher side of things reassure customers that the cancer of Denuvo will not affect this title? Thank you.:dogi:

GOG release, so no.
GOG.com release = No Denuvo
All the other ys games that i played on steam did not have denuvo, of course they were published by xseed, i dont think nisa has denuvo in there games i never had a nisa game in my steam library so cant say for sure, but all the xseed games and falcom games dont have it as far as i know, i do know bandai namco games dont either which is good just a EULA agreement, same goes for falcom games.

They have been using denuvo in some of their games lately. At least, I know Berseria uses it, and I believe God Eater series do as well. Not sure about others.
The take home message here is "proceed with caution". Thanks for the info guys.
Like others in the thread have said this game is being sold on GOG so Denuvo is highly unlikely. There would be no point, and it would be a complete waste of money from NISA

Thanks chronix112 you make a good point. I'll remain optimistic, being sold on GOG is indeed a good sign.
