Any chance Epic will force this game to release exclusively on Epic store?
Due to the recent Division 2 and Metro Exodus fiasco, I am afraid Epic may make a deal with Private Division and release it exclusively on Epic.

I trust Obsidian but don't trust Private Division fully.

I hope not. Obsidian are now owned by Microsoft.

It could go either way. OE is also known to go where the money is. So if they work off sales % they just might persuade PD to go to Epic. 10% or 30% makes a whole lot of difference.

MS has no say in this games release or development

I hope not, but it's a possibility considering how scummy Epic has been lately.

I think they are already working on it. I am ready to pre-order this game, but only in Steam:steamhappy:

It would be up to Private Division, not OE where this game goes since they are the Publisher. The incident with Metro was a decision by Deep Silver, not 4A. I do not really care because there is no way I am purchasing Metro Exodus now.

Its cheaper on Epic than it was on Steam.

Taking less money from publishers and selling games cheaper? The Scum!

Uh, no. I mean exclusivity deals. Giving a better share to publishers and selling games cheaper is actual good competition.

Exclusivity deals been around since Bettle.net. Since Steam 1.0. Since Origins.

Who cares, as long as the game is good.

Battle.net and Origin are launchers for the publisher's games to be distributed in. They don't pay the publisher off to publish the game exclusively in their platform because it's THEIR platform and THEY are the publisher. Same with Steam at its beginning. There's a big difference between releasing your games on your platform and making a deal with a third party publisher to release their game only in your platform and nowhere else.

Why is that? I don't understand what is going on. Been under a rock for a while. So don't understand why people are upset with Epic.

Well the trailer says steam on it, and there's a steam page. So safe to assume it'll be on steam

Eventually, after they've made bank on the other treehouse.

Just means Steam users who would have bought Exodus will instead buy Outer Worlds.

Lame launcher - no wishlist, no achievements, no activity feed etc.

And strong suspicion that epic gives user data to their owner tencent (agressive chineese company)

Although that's logical, Metro Exodus was also supposed to be released on Steam and it even had preorders, and then suddenly they moved to the Epic Store because they made a deal. There's always a chance.
