Horrible AMD performance
Why haven't they fixed this? i mean, my old 680 with 2gb of VRAM runs this game better at double the framerate.
A RX480 should run this game np, now i have to sell this card and get NVIDIA to even run this game decently.
I'm already running this game on lowest settings.

I've always owned an NVIDIA card, i chose AMD cause my monitor is freesync capable and i quiet like it.

Any other games run just fine, but i've noticed that other UE4 games also struggle with AMD cards but not as much as this game.
Some spots on the map i get decent 60-70fps, but most of the time it's 30-40fps.
Wich makes it kinda hard to react/aim wich gives me a big disadvantage against other players.

If other AMD users can prove me wrong or have a solution i'm all ears.
I'm not complaining or anything, i find it so weird why a 300 bucks card can't run this game on lowest settings while my old 680 can run it just fine.

Other specs: AMD Ryzen 1500X at 3,9Ghz (max temps are 53c thanks to NZXT Kraken X52)
8GB ram at 2666mhz (dual channel)
And my RX 480 is a Asus Strix 8GB OC'd version and doesn't exceed 62c so heat isn't the issue here either.

Find that hard to believe. :P RX 580 isn't much faster then a RX 480.

I bet if i get a RX 580 instead, it won't improve a thing.

MSI AMD Radeon RX580 Gaming X+ 8Gb GDDR5 is not the same as RX480

The RX500 series is way better than the RX480.. I have a RX560 2GB which is a like a $120 GPU not amazing by any means and i can run steady 60+ FPS on medium with no issues. You just need a new card. Dont blame AMD
Hotrith Oct 17, 2017 @ 11:50am
i think your problem is from your RAM and not from GPU, more higher you go on graphic, more RAM is required
Signex Oct 17, 2017 @ 11:55am
Then google around, RX 580 is just a higher clocked RX 480 that's a fact, i'm not blaming AMD like i said.
How could it be RAM? i've played pubg with 8gb ram and a GTX 680 and got double the performance on medium settings.

There is one thing i can try is increasing the settings, i've heard lowest could make the game run worse.

yes, but the optimization is crap right now, try afterburner and see the readings in game with it, btw you only have 6gb available, OS requires atleast 2Gb to operate, so you only have 6Gb free, that are the minimum required for the game.

use afterburner to see what you dealing with

I have a RX Vega 64, 16Go Ram, FX 8350 and the game has terrible FPS. It keeps hard crashing time to time, geting pixels everywhere on my screen and have to hard reboot my pc.
This game is pro NVIDIA for sure.
I runned a R9 380 @ 40 fps minimum with 0 crashes.
Since I got my RX Vega, I run ALL games on Ultra, no crashes, 60fps min.

But with PUBG random fps, and ♥♥♥♥ing random crashes. If it's not fixed soon, I'm gonna uninstall this game. A "high-end" GPU can't run it the way it should / must be. That's total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t !!

Some friends run PUBG on GTX 6xx or higher, they get the fps that goes with their GPU but no ♥♥♥♥ing hard crash at all...

Com'on devs...

I would say it is his ram i have 16gb ddr4 at 3200mhz and yea the os uses about 2gb to run properly etc he would maxing his ram out and causing lag.

I´m not sure about it, but i read somewhere that some engines has issues with the new RX vega gpu´s, is something about the new type of Vram "HBM2", or your issues is this or your CPU is bottlenecking

Hellblade senuas sacrifice is on unreal 4 and runs great same engine and so does the other battle royal game fortnite same engine but much more stripped down.
Nvidia is already releasing drivers for PUBG they have even added the replay option in game so Nvidia personally is optimising its cards for better experiences to it customers i think AMD needs to follow suite but they have not, only released one update for Vega for AMD cards.

Btw Signex, Flash your RX480 to RX580, read on google what to do, but if you do it, do at your own risk...
Signex Oct 17, 2017 @ 12:33pm
As i already stated, it's not an RAM issue, i know 8GB isn't much these days but i've never ran out of ram ever in a game. It uses about 7gb total, GPU usage is at 99% all the time, CPU at 30% on all cores. I just played a round, changing settings didn't help much either, from low to high.

I'm not flashing this card, my second should come back soon and then i'm selling both cards for a GTX 1080 or 1070 and be done with it.

Have no idea why mine is having a hard time running it when everyone else has no problems running it at 60+ fps.
Before the RX 480 i had a Asus ROG 780 TI Platinum, 80+ fps at all times on low settings.

I'll get back in and make a screenshot with MSi Afterburner showing all stats.

the gpu usage is normal at 99%, even on mine it runs at 99%, but i have more memory and core.

what driver version you running, and read what i write above?!
