Yeah I personally am waiting for a proper fix for it.
Not sure my system wouldn't just reset the date back to the correct one if I changed it anyway.
It's 100% reliable and lasts as long as you want it to. Change date, play Killer Instinct, change it back. It's fast and effective. Or you could just not play the game while you wait for an official fix.

im wondering if it has something to do with windows update kb2999226? i see it was installed the evening of nov 30 2017.
It crashes on Win7 too so no, it's just an issue on their end and they're going to fix it soon.
In fact, you would think Steam themselves might point it out to them.
It's obviously a bit of a balls up for those people who already own the game. But like said, I wouldn't worry too much that it will go unnoticed for long.
I agree, but why are we paying for a game that demands from YOU to fix it yourself? And changing date/time on Windows can cause some problems with other applications and Internet browser(personal experience). So for me that kind of approach is not an option. Guess i`ll just wait then. Thanks guys!
For that purpose i`ve started this tread :) I hope we`ve got their attention to that "Patch" problem.
