Betatest for Mac and Linux version
Dear Jagged Alliance Community,

During the last months we have been working behind closed doors on an interesting project. And now the time has come to share it with you.

One of our Teams has been porting Jagged Alliance: Back in Action to a new engine to bring it on Mac OS and Linux – the new version is based on Unity. And it’s on Steam already. If you own Jagged Alliance: Back in Action you can now play it on Mac and Linux within a Beta Branch. The password for the Branch is “metavira1994”. How to access the branch is described further down below.

You may ask yourself why we give you access to the beta already and the answer is rather simple: We’d like to hear your feedback. We have come very far. There are still some bugs left, that’s for sure. Some of them are already on our list, some of them we did not discover yet. So if you find them, feel free let us know. We have opened up a subforum where you can post feedback. You can find it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/57740/discussions/1/

If you find something which is not identical to the original Back in Action, also, feel free to let us know. The issue is probably already on our list, yet it is important for us to have your feedback as well.

How to access the Beta Branch:

1. Open up Steam

2. Go to your library

3. Right click on Jagged Alliance: Back in Action

4. Chose “Properties”

5. Go to Betas

6. Enter “metavira1994”

7. Press “Check Code”

8. Use the drop down menu to switch to the beta

9. Wait till the download is completed

10. Run the game

That dont works! As long as the game is NOT showing up in the "Linux Games" section on the library, you can NOT install it. Steam reafuse this with the message: "JA BiA is not avaiable to any of youre platforms". Before Steam will download a single bit, you need to mark the game as "linux" game.

Yeah, it seems the Linux content is only available to people who purchased the game on Steam directly.

Ok, will it include both of those in the future?

Linux version seems to be working great so far here.

You guys are beautiful in my eyes. Love the fact that you ported this to linux. Can't afford to buy it ATM, but going on my list for sure!
works fine here also picked up the DLC's hopefully they will come later

i thought wildfire was the one getting a port but this is fine too. old versions of jagged alliance(way back in the late 90's/early 00's when i dual booted) was very fun will be playing this quite a bit. :RogueMoneybags::RogueMoneybags::RogueMoneybags:

So, the Steam client gives me this: License Kalypso Bundle 2 (32026)
I'm pretty sure that was the Humble Kalypso Weekly from this summer, it's about the only package that doesn't have the Linux files yet :)
