Competitive Season 1 Rules
Attention, Admirals!

The time for war is finally here. Get your skull polishing cloth ready, because heads are going to roll! Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2’s first competitive season has now officially begun, and will end on Wednesday, April 24th 12:00 PM CEST.

Participation
To participate in a season, you must first own a copy of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, and then play 1v1 ranked multiplayer during the season you want to participate in.

Rewards
For any players on the ladder, we have rewards! You can look forward to new portraits, frames, and achievements!

There are twelve new portraits (one for each faction). For each rank you achieve, you will receive one random portrait, up to a total of six portraits if you are Legend rank when the season ends. You cannot get the same portrait twice, and any portraits you receive will always be unique, until you have them all.

Depending on your rank at the end of the season, you will receive an exclusive frame with a number of stars equal to the rank you are when the season ends. If you are Legend rank, you will receive the six star portrait.

There is an achievement for each rank, plus one for reaching legend with every faction, for the really hardcore Admirals out there. Achievements are gained immediately upon reaching a rank, so you will keep the achievement for gaining Legend rank even if you lose that rank before the end of the season.

Grand Prize
The winner of a season is the player at the top of the leaderboard the moment the season ends (April 24 12:00 PM CET), meaning top of the Legendary league. If this player is disqualified for any reason, the next person on the ladder will be the winner.

For our first season, the winner will receive a paid trip to Warhammer Fest on May 11-12, 2019. Transport, meals, and accommodation will be covered by Focus Home Interactive up to a maximum of 2000 Euro.

Warhammer Fest is in Coventry, England.

Disqualification
Any players suspected of Unfair Game Play will be disqualified from the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 season 1 and forfeit all potential prizes.
Unfair Game Play includes but is not limited to such actions as: match fixing, intentional disconnecting, cheating of any sort and by any means, collusion, purposely queuing to find a specific opponent in the ladder, or quickly conceding against the same opponent several times in a row.

The Full Terms & Conditions[cdn.focus-home.com] are also available.

I wish many of the problems would be fixed before making new, example my big ships and other ships run into each other and take hull damage because the model is bigger than the circle and the ships cannot see that so they fly into each other. :( In single player enemy fleets fly into them selves and damage for no reason at all. As necron the admiral ability to port his fleet into range of the admiral only work for that fleets ships, not for all ships in the fight, and with fleets in the fight not all are affected. :(
And lots more +++
I do not see Sweden as a country that can participate. Is there any particular reason why?
Jellyfoosh, what happens if a player with bad sportsman ship decides to disconnect before the battle ends. Do you all have a way to monitor? Ideally if one player disconnects the other player should automatically win, regardless of the circumstances, which would need to be coded into the game.
Only unique portraits? I would like a unique skin for ships, it would be more significant

Only 2 weeks for a season? They should be more like 2 months at least.

Damn why so short season. :(
How do i know if i'm still in it or disqualified? I disconnected due to an error and IDK if it counts as me ragequitting or not

Edit: Nvm, just found out that residents of Iraq aren't even eligible to participate... despite Qatar and Israel being ok... Weird....

Strange sistem - I don't play by faction, but rating is goin down... I win VS gamer with low rating and my rating is goin down... WHAT A HELL IS THIS?!..
Is it random which portraits you get? I mainly play with Imperial Navy and Adeptus Astartes and would like get them for these factions, but can I decide that?

If they are going to be a competitive game they absolutely cannot offer advantages like "able to disguise ship so its harder for opponent to identify."
Feedback to the Event:

Today I took my 11th Attempt to win a Battle. And as yesterday - I failed. The Reason is simple: I'm really not skilled enough to win against other and/or Experienced Players in Versus Mode. But, that's no Surprise, because I already have major Trouble to win against AI in Normal Difficulty, so .... the Result was expected.

Unfortunately I'm not the only One with such Issues. A Look in the Leaderboards tells me: Only 25% of the Participants (roughly 520 Players) have leveled up atleast once. So .... what is the Conclusion of this Fact?

The Event is designed to Players, that have played already Ranked Matches before. Players like me aren't welcome. We only delivere easy Victories to all of the Guys that want to reach the Legendary Rank - that's all. There is no Fun to loosing every single Match, there is only Frustration. Another Fact: Less than 2500 Players have participated so far. Is this the Majority of all of the Players that have purchased the Game? I don't think so, this seems to be about 5% - or less - of all Players.

Tindalos has done 2 Mistakes:

1st: They have ignored the Fact, that already at BFG I the Players had stopped playing Versus Mode due to several Reasons very fast. So why they expected a Change on that at BFG II? I can't understand this Decission, because the Players have stated everywhere at the Steam Forum, that we (the Players) want more Campaigns and less Multiplayer (the most Players don't care about MP). Why they try to force us to play the MP? Do they think the Game will stay "alive" when they do this Way? No, sorry Tindalos, it will die faster.

2nd: With the Lag of Success the very most players that have participated to the Event will receive no Reward. Only a single Steam Achievement will be given, nothing more. With no Rewards AND a high Frustration Level instead of Fun there is no Reason to play the Game as intended in MP Mode. Such Community Events will always fail. And next Time: The Players that aren't rewarded today (not even with Fun) will not even play a single Match. The Events will be only for a very small Minority as we can already see today - and that will kill the Game. The "Community" doesn't exist, it's just an "Elite" that will have the Fun that Tindalos want to deliver.

Tindalos: If you want to keep the Game alive have a look on "Dawn of War III" by Relic Entertainment and "Inquisitor Martyr" by Neocore. There you can see what leeds into a Dead Game. Wrong or Unwanted Game Modes, Unloved Community Events and the Decission to ignore the Feedback of the Players have killed both Games. Don't repeat that Mistakes and think about other Ways to keep the Game alive. An Event, that excludes 95% or more of the Players aren't the Path to Success. The most Players like/love the Campaigns, and the most Players want to play the Game once new Content is available. But the very most Players aren't Happy with the current Event.

You received less than 100 Likes for the Announcement of the Event. That should be a Proof, that the Event isn't accepted in the Way you should have expected. You can ignore my Text above, but you shouldn't ignore the missing Response by the "Community".

Have a nice Day :chaosstar:

everyone can play ranked tho, and the rules are the same as they were before the start of the season and a little more strict than 2v2 (points limits and such)
everyone will receive a number of special profile pics after the season ends based on your rank
they are literally making new campaign, and right now we have 3. sorry but I doubt that even half of the people asking for 4th campaign already completed the first 3.
You are not forced to play mp, not in any way. you can just ignore it since the profile pics you get from it are not usable in Campaign due to random admirals mechanic in... yea campaign
and tbh who even likes the posts on steam? I mean just read it and move on its not youtube where its the only way you can see how people liked it really.

edit: you can go to discord and ask people for tips and such, asking for help is almost always a good idea so give it a try <3

You missed my Point (i think). They are planning a Community Event, and a Huge Majority (maybe 95%) is ignoring it. And 75% of the Players that have participated until today will receive nothing, because they didn't level up atleast once. What Kind of "Community Event" is this? If only 520 Players will benefit from that Event, the Event has missed the Goal. A Community Event should give EVERY Participant a Reward, not only the very Successful Players. For me the only Reward I have received is Frustration due to a Loosing-Streak of 11 Defeats in a row.

The same Discussion was done in 2018 at Inquisitor Martyr. And the Result of the Event was, that the second Event was ignored by the very most Players. So what do you think will happen here? My - personal - Oppinion: We will see less Players participating next time, and the complains against Tindalos will be increasing.

For me the Event has failed. I'm just to weak to win atleast a single Match. So I can/have to/will ignore this Event for the next 12 Days, and than I will hope for a different Event in the Future - an Event with some Fun on my own side and with alot less Frustration.

Please note: This is my personal Oppinion/Feedback. You can have a different one. But the Facts/Numbers are telling us, that something hasn't moved the right Path. I'm only giving a Feedback from one specific Point of View.

nevermind ugh, basically even if you lose you get bronze, and for bronze you get a frame and 1 unique portrait so its basically reward for participation since you get a rank no matter if you lose or win
