Can't run demo due to blue screen of death

I downloaded the Amnesia: Dark Descent demo and when I try to launch it, the application gives me the blue screen of death; this hasn't done anything terrible to my computer but I can't get into the game. My driver is up to date and my computer met the requirements needed to play; except that my driver is more advanced than the one they use as an example before you start your download.
