Is the game worth it?
A friend of mine told me that this game was "overhyped" but I read a lot of positive reviews about it. Is it any good?

I have just finished it myself, and would recommend it to anybody. This game literally made me cold with fear in some spots. Even when there are no enemies about, I never felt safe. It's totally a different experience, the main character has a very interesting story that took a big twist I did not expect, and made me wonder if I was doing the right thing.

If you're looking for a horror experience, give it a go :) (There is a demo on their website I believe too).

It is. It is one of the best horror-adventures ever made. Overhyped is PewDiePie, not the game he made popular/which made him popular (just an example, nothing against PewDie!).
But one basic aspect should be clear: This is not a cheap Jumpscare-Horror-Trash-Shooter-Whatever. You have to play the game alone, in the dark and with headphones. If your Computer can handle it on highest graphics, to make the experience more intense. In the game you'll experience a story that already happened. You will walk through the game and get your memories back (thats why it is called "Amnesia").

To add something to the post right before mine: The Demo can be downloaded here, but it is buggy as hell and has even more issues than the regular game. Check if your computer can handle the game first, before you buy it. Most Laptops aren't well supported, because mobile-graphic cards and the most Intel-cards aren't supported (processors are fine in both ways Intel and AMD). Check your specs first here:

Hope you like the game, it is truly one of the greatest experiences you can get in PC-Gaming.

It is 'overhyped' because of PewDiePie and underhyped by people who think that the survival horror genre of gaming are games like Resident Evil 5 & 6. If you're a person that really gets into it and experiences the game, then I'd completely recommend it. This is not a game that you rush through or really try to beat. You just play, experience, and enjoy.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is worth it.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs really isn't.

Definitely, It's a great game full of Jump Scares and Scary Sequences that last more than a few seconds. It's quite briliant.
