No one hears you. Your account has been flagged as disruptive and your communication privileges temporarily revoked. Time remaining: 24 hours, 48 hours, 126 hours
I was new to dota 2 so I didn't know you could get muted for saying something even remotely offensive to another player. So I got the first 24 hours mute.

Finally, when the mute was about to be lifted with a few hours remaining, it was increased for 48 hours for no apparent reason. I mean... I was muted... how could I even have flamed if I was muted in the first place??

Then I waited another 48 hours. And now, its been increased to 126 hours (it's 168 hours now...).

I mean seriously... what is going on? I did pub stomp quite a few games pissing off the whole enemy team. Could that be the reason?

Like I've said before, and this is a message for Valve, please remove player-bound mutes and just remind people how to mute others on their own client.

For those who dont know how to do a personal mute, like I didn't for about 200 hours of play, click the little mic icon next to the Kills stat on the scoreboard.

People report for no reason, that's why it's gone up, but you understand how you got the mute in the first place, right? Being offensive.

Sure, this is the internet, 'harden up' etc, but don't be offensive to people and you won't be punished.

If you think saying "wow do you ever get your hooks on target" should get you muted for 24 hours then the 'real' flamers deserve to be muted for 7 lives. And please don't act like you've never flamed before.

Even saying this would typically get me muted if it were ingame.

why.... 25 ABR 2013 a las 3:37 p. m.
just for curiosity. to see if i'm not mad.

I was banned 24 hours ago for abusive.
Ok, i accepted it as "fatality" and today 1 hour left of ban.
I play a game, obviously without being able to do anything as i am banned from communicating. Each time i tried to write something like "RE" or "ss bot" i get the dreaded message with 1 hour left

End the game. Starta new one. Write "RE" and .... i'm told i am banned for 47 hours for abusive communication.

WHAT? How in the name of zeus i can get a ban for abusive communication while i can't communicate at all?

Is valve really that illogical and don't even check if a report can be true? How can i get reported for communication and the system simply say i get a ban while the system already has be banned for that?

This system is not only flawed by allowing all to report and get people banned without checking, but it's even idiotic in worst possible way (and yes it's the mildest word to describe it) in order to ban a person for something he can't possible do.

Valve, you really have done it. Pissed a lot of people with you lack of judgment. GG WP!

Yeah, whether or not I've done it is completely irrelevant to the situation. I never said anything about what I've done.

The point is correct though: If you're offensive, then there's the possibility of punishment. I'm not saying your comments were awful or even bad or anything like that, but it is something that can be construed as offensive. If that was all you said (no follow up comments or arguing or other insults) then that's not really worth a ban, but it's fairly simple: unless you're playing with people you know won't react badly to your 'jibes', just don't do it. It's not worth it.

The only thing it will do is agitate the other player, and they'll probably report you. Yes, for no real reason, I agree, but the system doesn't work off reality of reports, it works off number.

Well, you're only seeing half the problem. How do you justify getting mute extension for "not speaking".

perhaps you were reported by several players over the course of several games. punishments probably don't happen instantly - you could have accumulated a number of reports by the time the system came to deal with you.

That, i disagree with. If you're being reported for not being able to communicate based on a punishment, it's not really fair.
Not being ALLOWED to communicate and then being banned for longer because of that is Valve's issue to sort out, cause it's not right.

I was talking about communication reports, not post punishment though.

I just started playing dota 2 after taking a long break of about 5 months. I was muted in my 2nd game. So what you're saying isn't possible.

Are you Russian? Comm abuse report. Are you American? Comm Abuse Report. Did you pick Drow?! Comm Abuse Report. Are you the pink player and someone hates the color pink? Comm Abuse Report! Is my dog sick? Comm Abuse Report for everyone!

Your point was completely *meaningless* because it assumes something that does not *exist* in the new system - *Judgement*

It's probably one of the most hilariousness stupid things a company has done since the new Sim City release.

Trolls exist. Yes, the system is bad.
Doesn't change the validity of the statement in question. I said nothing about being punished for no reason, i said there was the possibility of punishment if you're offensive.

Such obtuseness was given by you in dismissing the statement purely for your own comedic purposes.

You do realize people are reporting people just to do it right? I have seen people report a player just cause they stomped the other team. Didn't say one thing offensive or that could have been mistaken for it either. The guy might have said three words the whole game and not to the other team and yet they all reported him and said they were reporting him. The most broke system ever. Never give players that kind of power in a game.

Did anything actually happen to the guy who got reported?

Were there a clue out there somewhere, it would have read this "This is the Internet, people find it *fun* to tr*ll games in any way they can and given that all anyone has to do is report anyone/everyone for *fun*, expect that to continue indefinitely."

There are a limited number of reports you can do, also just being reported doesn't gaurantee you a mute or low prio (otherwise I would have gotten them since people said several times they were reporting me.)

Every thread I've seen posted by people complaining about being muted (including this one), that person demonstrated either in their first post or subsequent responses to others that they more than likely deserved it.

In my case, I've already quoted what I said, and the pudge went berserk and said " stfu gonna report you twice" or something like that. Well, that's almost as bad as reporting someone for not picking support. I should've pobably reported him too, but I wasn't immature enough to make a big deal out of such trivial matter. Looks like the immature people ends up getting the last laugh with this sytem.
