open steam then go to dota 2 folder

EXAMPLE
"D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\game\bin\
"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\game\bin\

select if you are using win64 bit or 32

find the ''dota2'' application
rightclick dota2 ,
RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

its been 3 days , and dota2 is still making an update but this problem did not fixed

me too.. im still experiencing that error.. i cant play the game.. i reformat my computer and reinstall the game

it works on me , make sure your steam is already logon before opening dota2

Don't do this ... progs (including steam itself) should never have to be run as admin, instead the developers should stop doing what they are not supposed to be doing.

Worked fine for me too before I de-installed due to that childisch tutorial ...
But seriously don't run progs as admin as there is absolutely no reason to do so and you put yourself at risk.
