Dota 2
DotA2 ‘suspended’ in task manager
Had an issue start up yesterday since I did a demo game with ES arcana. When running dota and laptop is plugged in to charge, the game will freeze for a second and then go ‘invisible’. Pretty much I look at my home screen but still hear dota sounds and have dota2 cursor, and I can’t interact with home screen. It’s like dota becomes see through. Have to go through task manager to kill it and re-open, only fix I have so far. In task manager, dota2 is ‘suspended’

Only resolution is to leave laptop unplugged from charger. Doesn’t seem to care when that happens, game runs fine but destroys battery life.
I tried verifying game file integrity last night, that didn’t fix it.
I uninstalled the game and reinstalled overnight. Opened this morning and it did the same thing while plugged in.

Out of ideas, anyone got any solutions? Would be much appreciated.

It sounds like your power settings for when you plug in are throttling your system.

Laptops are notorious for having weird CPU usage settings. I would check and make sure that your power profile is set to high powered when plugged in.
Thanks for the tip man. Battery settings have been constant for the last few months I’ve had it so it must have just changed its mind on liking them.
When I get home later I’ll try that fix and give an update.
Update: changed settings to optimise performance while charging, didn’t help :(
