How to switch game language?
The game is apparently available in several languages (subtitles and some graphics that contain text), but how do you select the language? The language selection in the game's Steam library properties has no effect.

Some games have a language selection from the menu inside the game, main menu or options menu, these are the AAA games.
I dont know if the casualgames have a language selection, english is always included and eventhough its not my native language i been using it since win95 till win7 always had a english version and all tools and programs i use are in english.

Anyway this question might have been answered in similat topics at the alawar community here on steam.

It's changed through steam's interface: right click on game in your list and select properties, then change language in the language tab.

That's how I thought it should be, but it is not. It's what I'm talking about in my first post.

A good game should have extra language options inside the game itself, this works best and avoids problems. Old games had them in a menu inside the game, if they weren't there: you had no other language then english.

Anyway why would they want to put so many things in the steam client? it will only make the client grow and get slower, clients should be easy and most of all very fast, steam client is quite slow and very large.

That is connected to your Steam client language - system brings you language you have on Steam.

That is very nice and it will make things much easier like the language will be there in any language instead of the usual few:

english , german, french, italians/spanish ( sometimes)

I play games before steam was born, before you could do this language stuff easily, we had build in translation languages we could choose from within the main menu, personally i favor that, the file was usally a simple .txt file but with or without extension ( like . txt or xml) xml which opened by default with internet explorer ( abck then that is : win 95 and up).

The good thing was the files could be translated by the gamer self, no need for auto recognize by clients ( we had no clients no checking and automating things).
The developer saved lots of work just by telling us to translate the .txt or . xml file.

Gamers that didnt have english or german or even frenchs as a native language could learn some words by playing the game and sleecting one of the build in ( in the game) language.
I preferred that, there are many old and also new games on steam that run without the steam client which i prefer, i dont want to fuzz around with clients thats why i buy games that can run without it once the game is installed by the client.

I have ALL artifex games.... if they would make them runable with steam only i would stop buying them and wait for a retail ( we have a few retails in a local store (drm free) on cd or dvd and buy the latest if they arrive at GOG ( my main gaming site)
I often buy a game i have already again, in a away to support the developers as much as my budget allows.

Anyway it started with a few ( at steam) but it got out of hand, i have >400 games now and i promised myself not to buy too much :steamhappy:
with 2 or 3 other sites and the retail games( cd/dvd) its over 1000 games in total now with around 500 physical games ( on cd and dvd)the retail are all different games no doubles.
