I hope devotion comes back
I was lucky enough to get it before it got taken down. It's really good guys, I hope more people eventually get to play it.

I'm definitely getting whatever they release next :)

yeah i just missed it, and for the record the reason why it was removed was a big + in my book, so i really wish it comes back to steam some day. it will be an instant buy.
I was so close to getting it that same day it got removed :/ I really hope it just comes back and won't be simply forgotten and shunned. That would be a shame ..

That's what the PRC's politicized wants to achieve, to make people forget just because of one little talisman.

The devs should have just stuck to their guns.

From my perspective it's hard to understand how all of this came to be, but I don't get the political tension between these countries, I don't know which type of people started to get so outraged... was it really the chinese gamers that were so upset over a damned easter egg?
I don't know what goes on behind the scenes at the studio, so I won't judge. I'd just like them to know that many people would happily purchase their game & don't care about this whole thing -they just want to enjoy a well designed game.

No words. Accepting this just really makes me sad/angry.. - "After seeing the term so abused over the past few years, this is a harsh reminder of what censorship really looks like; people walking on eggshells for fear of crushing government retribution."

You think that is bad? I got some more info from another steam user going to have to quote him here as the old devotion steam page has been removed

"It's gone forever sadly. The Chinese government recently announced that anyone from China who actually downloaded Devotion received a 400 point Social Credit Score decrease, meaning their internet speeds were slowed dramatically as a penalty.

"Sources confirmed that upon purchasing the 2019 video game 'Devotion', the Chinese individual's Social Credit Score would decrease dramatically. Some types of punishments include: flight ban, exclusion from private schools, slow internet connection, exclusion from high prestige work, exclusion from hotels, and registration on a public blacklist."

Red Candle are based in Taiwan problem is they still do a lot of business with mainland China and there publisher Indieevent got there business license revoked since they are based in China. And considering the drama is still going on in Asia in regards to this game but I seriously doubt it will make a return

As for the people in China who had this game that is all true from what I know. A nice little run down about the game in general is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJRkLyokbRg
