We should make this big. Bigger than No Man's Scam!

Dear everyone,

We are sorry that it took us some time to respond to your comments about the review but we honestly didn't know where to put our hands in the first place in all this release turmoil. We are starting to calm down but this infamous review is a perfect example of our recklessness - and we are extremely sorry about it. We reached out to a small team of UndeadScout over a year ago. Even though there were only 3 of them working on Husk, we saw tons of potential in the game and we really wanted to bring the Silent Hill vibe back to the world again - so we joined forces.

We are open to all your suggestions on how to improve the game (more info on our planned updates and patches in a separate post soon), and we are going to do our best to make it a better experience.
Folks from UndeadScout are extremely passionate and we strongly believe that we can improve Husk together. Nevertheless, when we saw the initial flood of negative reviews right after the launch of Husk, we got scared. And we knew that our friends from UndeadScout didn't see that coming - it was devastating to them, especially as it's their first game and they put so much effort into it. So - believe it or not - we simply wanted to make them feel better. We naively thought that a positive review is going to change their feelings related to the game's reception. It was a friendly (yet ridiculous) impulse towards the developer - not an attempt to mislead anyone.

That was wrong. Very wrong. We decided to remove the review immediately. That's how people who just did something bad typically react - they are trying to deny it, bury it and push it away; and everything is fueled by fear.

The developers from UndeadScout had nothing to do with it. We are the ones to blame. We promise we will do our best to improve Husk together with UndeadScout. We strive to be 100% open and transparent with you, the community. You are what matters the most to us.

Let's continue the conversation and make Husk better together. And please feel free to ask us any questions you've got.

TL;DR This was a very rash and silly act on our side. We are deeply sorry for this inappropriate behavior. Updates for Husk are coming.

Well it wasn't just a simple mistake was it? The intentions may have not been bad but its still breaking the Steams Terms of Service by decieving consumers. Simply apologizing is not acceptable. There was no excuse for what happened, very shameful.

Probably I'll get banned from this forum but I strongly suggest reporting to Steam and Humble Bundle (for those who got this on the Monthly).

Some kids on reddit made a thread accusing you of making fake reviews because some guy with only 1 game made a review. I guess that constitutes a fake review on reddit. They are eager to be the one to spot a steam dev making fakes reviews. Maybe its jealously their game didnt make it to steam who knows

Also they seem to have doxxed your personal information which is against reddit rules. I would report this post and likely the user will get banned and hopefully the steam subreddit removed since it is the source of constan doxxing for steam devs. I reported the post and you should as well. Good luck bro.

The developer itself confessed he was the one writing fake reviews literally 8 posts before yours. Link for your convenience: http://steamcommunity.com/app/553960/discussions/0/135508031950994518/?tscn=1486183682#c135508031951596008

he doesnt deserve to be doxxed on reddit though. the alt right subreddits supposedly got shut down for doxxing but for some reason the steam reddit allows the doxxing of steam devs with no repercussions. it happened to this dev and steam mods have allowed it for other devs also.

Agree on the doxxing thing. No need for that.
While I strongly condemn the actions of the publisher(?) and believe they should have some sort of punishment, I kind of fear where following this might end up.

While this time it was indeed an employee of the game maker, it could just as easily of been a fanboy or employee of a competing game. I don't think it is out of the question for one of those to of thrown together a steam private profile and create a few names based on information easily found on the internet. Then they would write what sounds like an obviously fake review, sit back and watch the fireworks.

Competitors only care when a product is good, as this product is a steaming pile of♥♥♥♥♥♥ I can't see anyone risking their future to rubbish something that is already rubbish.
