The game detects my Xbox controller randomly holding LT even if I'm not touching it.

I play mouse & keyboard, but with my Xbox controller left plugged in and idle. But lately, when I open up this game, the left trigger input keeps triggering on it's own even if I'm not touching the controller. I'm 99% sure that the controller isn't broken, because this doesn't happen with other games.
