What exactly does Armor rating do?
been running some tests on weak enemies like small bug and small robot, so far I cant tell any difference at all when wearing heavy or light armor in terms of damage taken, I have noticed enemies will sometimes "crit" for much more damage, but I really cant tell any difference with 144 armor rating vs like 72 armor rating, the only thing I noticed is how much slower I am with heavy xD, so has anyone done deeper testing to figure it out? or does it even work??

The perks are everything. I run heavy for the explosives resistance and crouch-aiming speed. You can drop into a crouch from sprint and you're steady immediately. Additionally, the explosives resistance dramatically reduces deaths from friendly fire.

Reduces the damage you take. Wearing heavy armor can let you survive a direct hit from a rocket that would gib you if you didn't.

so it only reduces big attacks? cuz vs smaller attacks its doing nothing

People are saying its bugged. Doesn't seem to be much of a difference between light and heavy other than heavy just slowing you down. I'd love to be wrong, though.

From my limited experience, heavy armour shines much more against bots, where there's more attrition from small arms fire coming back at you. Bugs tend to hit much harder, so evading in the first place is more worthwhile.

yeah i could see this possible with the -50% explosive perk but u can get that on any armor, today super shop has light armor with this perk for example.

thats what i thought too but if u go fight some small robots, you will notice you take around the same damage with lightest armor.

Maybe it's true. I've only done a few drops against bots, and my first one without heavy armour was a nightmare. Could be I was just better prepared the second and third time around so I didn't get my cape handed to me quite so hard.

but if heavy armor isnt working that would be a respectable problem we should all speak up about

sad, but heavy armor is useless
light - 75
heavy - 144
