Question about "Vigilance" skill
I remember that a few weeks ago the game said that this skill "increases the range of torps of 25%" and because of that I applied it to all the ships that have a very poor torpedo range. Why the hell now I read that this skill now increase only the spotting range of enemy torps?!

Extends ship's torpedo acquisition range.

+25% to the detection range of enemy torpedoes.

Provides additional time to react to incoming torpedoes. Stacks with both Target Acquisition System Modification 1

You maybe mixed it up with http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Commander#Torpedo_Acceleration
except it decreases torpedoes range while giving more speed(while torpedoes visibility remain the same, meaning less reaction time when hydro is not active).

It always was like that since skills rework, so you should pay more attention, even the skill name does not sound like it may increase torpedoes range.

No I'm perfectly aware of that skill, in fact I always used Torp Acceleration and then compensate with Vigilance for having back the original torps range plus a little more speed. I think that since the game in my language is literally translated with the @ss, they wrote "Extend torpedo range by 25%" when in reality they meant that extend only the enemy torpedo spotting, and with one of the latest patch they wrote that more clearly.

Nice, now I have to spend like 600 golds to reset all skills for a stupid translation error...

What's your language? Italian? I don't think there were text changes for it, but can't be 100% sure.

Yep italian, I always saw that it was written only "Aumenta il raggio di portata dei siluri del 25%", which in fact it literally means that it increase the torpedo range by 25%.

I edited my post above, check it before you decide to reset it for doubloons, except if you really don't want to wait.

Is there anything else you notice is wrong with the Italian translation? I can transfer that to devs.

Basically instead of increasing torpedo range you can decrease your visibility :) Camouflage + Concealment expert + ship upgrade(tier 8+ IIRC?). But i guess you already know that. Other than that just run away while launching torpedoes, the pursuer would fall into that range by himself.

About torpedo acceleration skill — i don't use it anymore after the Great IJN torpedo range nerf (sometime ago T8 Kagero had 15 km stock torpedoes!) :( It's almost only useful for CVs and Gearing and 20 km Shima (but 20 km module is ♥♥♥♥ anyway, no good reason to use it).
I don't feel 2 points are worth that, instead i improve my torpedo reload by all possible means to be a menace more often. That's why legendary upgrade for Yueyang really came in handy for me :P

Well, I started using the skill for my Leander's captain, and despite the range suffer A LOT (5.6 km for one of the less armored CA is not really the best), I still can make lots of things and damage with her. Maybe for that I'll leave the skill as is, with a ship that can be easily detonated by 2 torp hits it might be very helpful knowing the position.

Yeah, Vigilance isn't a bad skill, especially for smoky cruisers.
But i haven't heard anyone using Torpedo acceleration for cruisers :)

Vigilance is the main game in Random these days, people seem to like it, its not my cup of tea, i am here to have a naval battle not tipie toe this way and that looking for an advantage, screw that crap... therefore if your like me and just want a good fight, then stick to operations, then you dont need vigilance.

Edit: if you like Random battles, definately KEEP your vigilance skills

I suspect many players in ranked use it too, their torpedo dodging is insane.

Personally I use it on any bb or any ship that has smoke. It allows that extra time you need to dodge those torp walls.
