Faith Seed - Under Rock Glitch

For many (like myself), this old bug is still occurring. It occurs when you get to the point where you must kill Faith Seed. During her final dialog, where she states that she "was just a child at the time", she is supposed to ascend from under the rock and hover above it. A few shots, at this point, should finally kill her. The glitch occurs when she is stuck under the rock, with only her hit bar indication visible. In this state, you cannot hit her no matter how hard you try.

I ran into this glitch this week, and no matter how many times I replayed the checkpoint the same glitch would result. It was about the 4th or 5th replay that I noticed there were guns left sitting on top of the rock. These are guns offed you (along with ammo) just before the final round. I wondered if it was possible that these guns were preventing her character from passing through the rock. A collision, or clipping, glitch. This is fairly common in 3D games. It's what gets you stuck behind, or in, something where you have to reload the level in order to get out. In this case it's the OTHER character (Faith) that gets stuck.

So on the last replay, just before she was to rise through the rock, I selected my rocket launcher and blew the weapons off the rock, keeping the top of it cleared. When it came time for her to arise through the rock, she did so without issue.

So if anyone is experiencing this glitch, try this fix on a checkpoint replay. Please post if this helps or not so we can finally mark this one off the books.

hey so the same thing happened for me today and i replayed over and over and the wepaons arent even on the rock anymore....

i dont have a rocket launcher grenades dont work etc.
please help

I'm sorry to hear that the workaround by MageOfAnubis couldn't help you in your issue.

Another thing which I would suggest you try, is verifying your game files, which checks for any missing or damaged files which might be causing this.

Could you possibly try reloading to a save where you'd be able to get a rocket launcher to try out the suggestion mentioned in this thread?

I know it's several years late, but I was having an issue with this and resorted to a trainer I know a lot of people want to play this legit but I used WeMod and spawned at a bobblehead location using the spawn map at the Feeney house which is just east of Faith seeds fight area. The game lagged for a second and then it spawned me right back into Faith seeds fight area and she came out of the rock to where I could put a 12 gauge incendiary right in her lying throat this was after about 4 minutes and a majority of my ammo being wasted shooting the rock trying to kill her through it this was armor piercing incendiary slugs buckshot all of my explosive very all of my flame arrows and the explosive alien pistol but I finally got past this damn scene!
