What is everyones opinion on the current loot system.
Are you satisfied with it, or not?

Survey: https://www.strawpoll.me/15365685

Also if you are not satisfied please do explain why, and vice versa.

Edit:

Cross referencing my other two threads for future reference.

Official website: https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/are-you-satisfied-with-the-current-loot-system/20602/9

Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/comments/879c7s/are_you_satisfied_with_the_loot_system/

Seems like I got more feedback on the steam forums over everything else. Hopefully the devs will notice the feedback on all aforementioned threads.

Conclusion:

After reaching a total sample size of 300. I can write up my conclusion.

301 unqiue individuals participated in the survey. Of those 301, 56% have voted that they are not satisfied with the current loot system, 40% have voted that they are satisfied with the current loot system. Remaining 5% have voted that they do not care.

I feel fully confident in saying that the majority are not happy with the system. Although the system is steps ahead of the last title, where getting loot in vermintide one was more or less a lottery ticket. In this title getting loot is a bit better. However, this is only true to some extent. Once you reach higher difficulty, and have max power, grinding for loot becomes frustrating. Now do note, I am not asking for reds to be given to me, or to be showered with hats and fancy skins. On the contrary I am asking to be rewarded for doing hard deeds and legend runs. As of this moment there is no real reason to attempt deeds other than for challenge. There is also no point in trying legend unless you wish to grind for the sake of grinding. Once you reach level 30, you are better off grinding in champion, than in legend. Reason being legend is very difficult, and you can get possibly nothing for your efforts.

Suggestions I have for improving the loot system will be to reintroduce the bounty board. Not completely copy and paste the bounty board here. Rather instead add your own spin to it, in true vermintide 2 way. Second I suggest for reds and hats to have their drop rates increased a bit, not a whole lot, but enough to make legend runs appealing. Lastly reward players for doing hard deeds with exculsive loot. Right now getting deeds is already a lottery ticket, once you get them there is no point in doing them. Allow me to elaborate. If you do the challenging recruit deeds you get loot that will become irrelevant afterwards. Deeds only become useful once you reach max power. I believe giving players some exclusive loot, or hats will be far more engaging and rewarding. It will give players an actual reason to do deeds and complete them.

Better than 1, but you're still relying on absolutely horrible RNG for reds/cosmetics. Should be able to craft hats/reds in exchange for a high resource requirement + require that you are level 30.

The people against this are elitists, who don't give a damn about character customization anyway or player satisfaction, they just want to feel superior to everyone else.

No and yes, the current loot system, while rewarding higher difficulty (great idea!), has problems with cosmetics. There are no cosmetics, which are the true end-game for higher tiered players. Once you hit max power, you don't really see anything new, because you'll roll your favorite weapon into legendary, max power, and stats and equipment skill. Nothing else. However, it's better than vermintide's higher level higher tier system.

edit: or i have ♥♥♥♥ RNG for cosmetics other than the legacy one

I think the poll is a bit too broad, not focusing on any aspects specifically.
You could diversify it in terms of:
- Item Rarity (Enough high tier items for your time?)
- Fairness // Reward vs Effort ratio (A full Tome/Grim run = satisfying?)
- Enough Scrap material to spend on upgrades
- User Interface aspects perhaps. I don't know if the poll is supposed to go into that.

1. I feel ♥♥♥♥♥♥, when I open Emperor chests with a low-level character and get whites and greens.

2. I feel like the amount of randomness is twice as high now. You first get Ranald's Gift to decide the tier and THEN get another instance of RNG when you roll the actual loot. Ranald's gift shouldn't even be in the game, when it is the only possible way of reaching an Emperor reward in the first place.

3. I haven't ran into this -yet-, but there are tons of people severely lacking green items, now forced to play below their skill level only to get greens.

While you are right, in that I could have been more specific. I just wanted a general idea of the communitys feelings on the matter.

Getting higher power is fine, once you get going it's not too hard to gear up

Getting cosmetics/reds, haha good effing luck
99,9% of items from chests its actualy a scrap to to upgrade\roll other 0,1% of items. Why didn`t game drop you scrap from boxes in the first place? maybe even green dust, because everyone who play a lot have like 500 blue dust and 0 green. And orange dust just pile up, nothing to do with him.

I have over 500 green dust. I salvage everything. Saving up til all of my characters gear score is at level 300 before I use any of it.
i think i already use more, but that isnt a problem, problem is that no way so get green dust besides doing no grimm runs.

Meh, Wee but Salty right now. Prefect run on Champ like 1 tick from Emp Chest :P

So Gen Chest with all Useless Greens :D
sometimes soldier or even merchant chest can give better loot than emperor chest.

There are things i like but overall it's starting to get on my nerves.

-The crate system is better than the loot dice from V1 but it badly needs a bounty board to get more consistant rewards in the form of dust and scrap.

-Currently legendary is not worth doing loot wise since it's by and large a lot of the rewards you see from Champion with an extremely low Red item chance and it's much, much harder to play legendary after a recent patch.

-The crafting system is both better and worse from the first game. Not being able to work on equiped items or unequip items quickly is a pain, crafting items is better since you can choose your item and craft it for a cheaper cost.

-Green dust needs some kind of conversion or easier mothod of obtaining it. I'm sitting at something like 60 blue, 30 orange, and 0 green after trying to roll desired stats on a red melee weapon. I don't need that much orange dust and barely have a use for it as is.

-Item fortifying, being able to pick what trait you keep on a reroll and the ability to reroll singular passives on an item need to return. Part of what drives me nuts about the current crafting system for item passives is how you pretty much have 0 control over anything. You want to keep a particualr trait when upgrading an item? Sorry, too bad! You want to keep one passive and reroll another? Nope! You get the passives you wanted and just want them to be higher? Nope, try again!

-I think scarp ammounts are fine but late game there is pretty much no incentive to upgrade an item vs just crafting a new one. This is especailly apperent when you cap out at PR 300 items and can then constantly make new ones.

-It costs 50 scrap to go from blue to orange, making a new item is 10 with a chance to get a orange out of that. If you make 5 items you could get enough scrap to probably make a 6th as well. upgrading 2 blues can cost the same as crafting 10-12 new items. Not to metion upgrading from blue to orange re-rolls the stats again so if you do get a great stated blue item then you either need to roll without an orange trait or upgrade it and hope the upgrade reroll does not ♥♥♥♥ you.

The big problem is that the current crafting system is just to random. No one wants to re-roll a weapon 20-30 times just to get stats that look kind of ok, especially since it will often re-roll into the exact same stat or trait but with a lesser value or a worse trait with no option to keep the previous one.

Loot system needs no tweaks. I think reds and cosmetics should be ultra hard to get. Gives people something to work toward. If they just hand you all of that stuff then you no longer have any progression to finish up.

I am satisfied. The only thing i'd like to see is the dust conversion, but otherwise i am satisfied.

I think I burned Like 50 Green 50 Blue yestarday just trying to get Block radius increase stat + Crit Power on Duel Dagger ^_^

And don't listen to this guy with his 66 hours in the game. I have 177 and still have no reds or cosmetics, and I'm not QQing. And how does that make me an elitist? Because I don't want the game devs to hand me everything? Because I actually want to invest the time to earn it? Stop being a cry baby that wants everything given to them bud.

You even gave actual numbers to prove his point. The game hasn't even been out for a month and you racked up 177 hours. I am glad you have this much spare time, but Fatshark should not rely on everyone being able/willing to put in this hight intensity gaming just to get a cosmetic item.

Edit: Consider that the chance of getting one of those also sort of relies on your teammates' performance. So it might not even be your fault for not getting ahead in the cosmetics department. And this is bad for a whole bunch of reasons.
