Request "NoFixedTimeStep" executable option
I don't know if the developers still check this forum at all, but if you do could you please add an optional executable that runs Flotilla with the FixedTimeStep flag in XNA disabled?

This is a problem with most XNA-developed games running on systems with modern hardware, including mine. It is caused by a bug in XNA that was never fixed by Microsoft before they abandoned it. The developers of A.R.E.S. go into some detail of the problem in this post. Developer Shawn Hargreaves goes into further detail in this post[blogs.msdn.com].

Basically, without a no FixedTimeStep option for Flotilla, the game runs at a locked 48 FPS instead of 60, which makes everything in the game (including menus and interface) move in slow motion.

My understanding from other developers who have fixed the problem in their own XNA games is that this is a very easy fix, that only requires the FixedTimeStep flag to be disabled, and then re-uploading the new build as an alternate launch option in Steam.

The game Bastion already includes this alternate launch option, for example.

I hope you are able to add this option for Flotilla as well, because the sluggishness of the game without it makes it difficult to enjoy at all.
