HELP! Need to be refreshed on sound mods

I've tried making a soundmod for quite a while now. Made the VPK, matched the bitrates, used the correct file folder, EVERYTHING. (maybe) but that does not stop the fact that I keeping on getting the retarded scratchy white noise. After 9001 attempts, I finaly came to the conclusion that I was missing something, or doing it wrong completely.

If you would be so kind to spend some of your time telling me how to set up the sound mod properly, as well as how to build the audiocache? That would be very much apreciated

what program are you using to make the sound mod with? Is the white noise throughout all the sounds?

you could try verifying the game cache in games/right click on l4d2/propeties/verify game cache
then open console and put this (you can try after verifying see if that fixed it) and wait it takes about 15 mins
