Lightsaber sound remains even after the mod is deleted.
I once downloaded a lightsaber mod for the katana long ago (Can't remember which mod is it.), and after trying it once, I deleted it. And currently the main problem is that the lightsaber sound remains everytime the sword hit the AIs.

I tried deleting both the katana soundfiles and the sound cache, then verify the game cache to recover the original files. And yet, the sound remains.

So can anyone help me to figure out how to solve this one? :csgohelmet:

Go to the main menu and open the console, type this line:
snd_rebuildaudiocache; snd_updateaudiocache; exit

Let it do its thing (takes like 10-15mins) . All it does is rebuild your audio, update, and automatically exit when it's done. Then restart the game and see if the problem persist.

Tried it, the problem still persisted.

hmm did you get it from the workshop? Be sure to unsubscribe. Deleting it from the folder won't do.

Pretty sure I downloaded the mod from other sites. I checked my subscribed mods, just in case, and didn't find it.

Usually deleting the .vpk mod restore the original sound. But I did find a lightsaber sound mod from gamebanana that directly replace the sound files.
Since you already delete the katana soundfiles, try also deleting these files Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\swing
delete swing_miss_1 and swing_miss_2 and verify game cache

Last resort, reinstall.
Also I'm out of ideas if this don't work xD.
