L4D2 Wont start!!

Every time i try starting L4D2 steam freezed then is none responsive. i have restarted steam many times. restarted my computer many times. I have verified it and all that stuff. im not great with computers but i know my way around one hel?:)

did you uninstalled steam then reinstall, i had problem with steam as well. I click a game and it wont launch or i click the game but then it crashes

Hey could you help me out? Every time i start L4D2 it says that i have to remove "insecure" from the launch options, but i dont know how to do it. It causes that i cant connect to any servers

Try adding -novid to launch options for l4d2....right click and click properties then click the launch options button...the video seems to either slow down or freeze the game... The start up vids ought to be disabled after viewing/starting the game for the first time.

Also, when you start l4d2...do you have task manager open so that you can see if the amount of memory commit/cpu usage changes or freezes....this problem could be not related to steam and could be a registry error/hdd error. If you think it could be....try running a registry repair...i use ccleaner, and try running chkdsk(to repair errors on hdd).
