L4D2 won't work, says "Steam servers are too busy"
A couple days ago a friend of mine gifted Left 4 Dead 2 to me. I finished installing it after two days of downloading finally and when I click it, it says, "completing installation" even though its already installed. Then when it hits 100% it says, "The Steam servers are too busy to handle your request for Left 4 Dead 2. Error code (53)." I don't know what's going on. Then later I tried running it and it worked but it crashed mid-opening sequence and the same thing happens when I try to rerun it. Can anyone help?

I have been getting the same error ever since the download finished too. Error code (53) is your virus/firewall protection, however regardless if I turn it off I still get the error. I have tried changing the download regions etc still no luck.

I've actually fixed it, although I'm not entirely sure how. Try logging out then back in, or launching the game directly from the .exe file in its library folder rather than in Steam or a desktop shortcut (or Live Tile if you have Windows 8 and you're using Steam Tile).

relogging doesn't work, and the .exe way kicks me after a few seconds

Try restarting your computer then. Both soft reset (using "reset" option) and hard reset (turning it off, then turning it back on manually)
