Completely untrue , as with any game there will be annoying and unfair individuals online but my experience was only positive.
I highly reccomend you buy this game ( enormous replayability with game modes and tons of addons ).

98% of the time that people complain about about getting kicked, theres a good reason but the person is too stuborn to see it.

If you complete every single map both in campaign expert realism mode and survival mode, that's a lot of fun to be had already, and campaign players don't usually kick. And there's always community created maps, there's some pretty nice maps like Yama. You can easily have 100hrs on these maps. I've seen people with 1000hrs and no versus games.

You don't have to play versus if you don't want to, the community is pretty rough, but you could read my guide on versus, that could help, most pubs would not know everything in this guide, even I didn't know some of the stuff that was written by my collaborator.

If one doesnt play with at least 1 friend then he's gonna get kicked by some idiots that enjoy to troll people making them mad (i know that for a fact). So you are either playing with friends not playing enoughz or just flat lying... or you are one of those idiots kicking people around ;)

For all the others who say "it's your fault" "play better and you wont be kicked", well sorry but it's bullshrit. And the proof is that often you are being kicked like 5 seconds after the (first) chapter begin...

Its a good dame. All you have to do, is make some friends from community, then try only with them. Its highly recomended because:
-avoid to get kicked fbeen newbie.
-keep away the kick hunters. (those guys who makes the game ugly)

the votekick comes in handy with the trolls but when it comes to those players who do it for fun it is abusive.

Communication is the problem. Tell them to get to your position, to do what ever he needs to do. If hes apply the interest of the team, well... kick it out. And dont act like you are not making mistakes man. Everyone does... more or less.
"Play better- wont be kicked" In a team you have to comunicate. If you dont and vote to kick a player, well your are not a good player, Your are just a kickhunter. You know the rules and hunt those who doesnt guess what should you want to do. Its just rude.

Since that, I know rules (using e-button to help help mate, using rmb to cover mates from mobs or to heal mates). That wasnt hard, to understand infected' playing tactic after you learnt, how to play for survivors. So I wont stop kicking ppl with 2-20 hrs playing l4d2, who wanna play versus, but have no any skill or exp, because they even didnt play singleplayer (after they bought l4d+l4d2 pack, thinking "my great cs skill 'll own them all").
So, stop trolling and play some co-op campaigns.
