experiecing serous performance issues

since the last updates i am experiencing grave performance issues with hab´ving "shader detail" set to max.
I've never ever played l4d2 with anything else as "all to max" and it ran ultra swift without ANY kind of micro lag...
Someone encountered analogue problems?

low fps, no stuttering or clipping
it feels like walking through glue an sliding around a bit, no "clear" movement (and so aiming) anymore

doesn't sound like it's just framerate. only thing I can think of is deleting your main config file and verifying the cache. your rig is obviously good enough so it sounds like something just got corrupt. that's happened to me about 100 times on skyrim but never on a valve game.

make sure options/allow developer console is enabled.

Press ~ to open console
Type cl_showfps 1
Type net_graph 1 / 2 / 3 (you choose)

on cl_showfps your ping is "lerp" in seconds, 0.1=100, 0.01=10

that should give you some details of whats happening

same commands with 0 to turn them off

ok. problem solved!
it was a corruption between a catalyst preset and the game. Setting catalyst to factory defaults solved it, but thx for help anyways!
