Server log for DOS/Flood?

Anyone know if server logs show anything when someone gets mad DOSs the server? This seems to be the more common douchebag move when madbads lose a map these days.

You can go through the logs and find the IP address but theres little you can do with it. I had some mads that with the help of some scripts that were able to track my steamID and within 5 minutes of me joining any server it would get DoSed. It was all script driven so didnt matter what time of day or night I was like the laser paint for a missle strike. I had the IPs, their steamIDs, chat logs of them bragging about it. I did dozens of reports, filled tickets, and even contacted the losers ISP. All of which did nothing.

After this went on for months I finally figured out exactly how they were doing it and found some unpatched exploits for the mysql database server they were using for part of their setup and completely killed it. For just these random skiddies that get mad and fire up a srcds DoSer for a few minutes till the server dies theres nothing you can do.
