Engine Error
I don't know why I'm getting this error. I've searched on Google for about an hour with no real progress. I don't know if it's the mods I'm using or something but I don't really know. The error goes like this "Engine Error 413(the numbers change sometimes)/ - infected: UTIL_SetModel: not precached: models/infected/common_female_tshirt_skirt(also changes).mdl" I'm sorry if it's been answered recently but I'd really like help here.

...............
I think it may be a VPK model conflict. Remove all mods then validate your game files.
Good luck if you are using Workshop as this makes removing mods much more difficult.

If you have any mods that modify the common infected skin, try deleting them.

If you don't have such mods, have you tried verifying your game cache? (Go to your Steam library > right click Left 4 Dead 2 > click properties > click the Local Files tab at the top of the properties window > click Verify Integrity of Game Cache. If you never done this before, assume it'll take 10 minutes for the process to complete.)

i've done this before but never really worked, any other solutions? I know this post was like from two years ago, just trying my luck.

I think I just got rid of the mod that was messing it up. Though I don't really remember since it was long ago. Try uninstalling all mods then validate/verify. If that doesn't work, uninstall the mods then the game. Maybe that'll help?

It's also been a while for me too. I remember getting that engine error myself but it always fixed itself after I restarted the game. You could verify that the game's resolution matches your monitor resolution (it may have had something to do with resolution), or re-install the game. But make sure it gets installed in the C drive and no where else, because I had several issues after I attempted to play the game on a different drive / partition other than C. Also, are you using an external graphics card or an integrated graphics card? I think it may had something to do with integrated graphics card.

I had this bug because I installed an add-on that changes common infected zombies into Half-Life 2 zombies. Better remove your installed add-ons.
