bots save me more, cover me better, stick together. yes they have a glitchy moment, but over all, if you screw up, bots dont scream in a high pitch squeeky voice every cuss word they ever heard..
My main gripe with bot allies, in SP or MP, is that they'll take a medkit and start healing an ally with 68 hit points left for seemingly no reason. Life would be so much better if there was some sort of restriction where a bot wouldn't heal another bot if the target has more than 50 hit points (probably keep it higher for a player, since bots in MP games basically exist to protect human players).
I absolutely don't want bots using throwables. That'd be catastrophic.
i didnt like the improved bots thing.. i bind speech radials in. so it screwed that up,
and versus mode and scavenger was terrible lol. the bots just stood there and let me kill them XD
idk. but the single player versus mutation is extremely hard, bots kill you quick, and the SI just keep attacking..
Not to mention when YOU'RE trying to run away from something that's about to freaking maul you and they're just like, "Ohp, well THIS looks like a good time ta heal ya! :3"
They're not ALWAYS bad, but... most of the time I might as well be playing with a group of headless chickens. (Though, even THAT wouldn't be so bad if they were Cuccos. ^-^)
pull out medkit or pills and they stop. if you switch fast enough you can prevent it.
Yeah. My personal favorite is when you hear a Spitter fire her acid, and Louisbot decides that's the perfect time to start healing you. You can't move until he starts taking damage.
And then he ends up damaged and heals himself instead of you.
This can theoretically work but it's not guaranteed. I think I've seen it fail more often than I've seen it work.
works fine for me. i just switch from pills, melee the infected out the way. and if theres a horde i switch to gun, fire off, switch back to pills, then back to gun.
but they rarely got to heal me anyway.
