This is such a great time to ditch spyware Windows and $$$ Mac and join the penguin ranks!
Not at all surprised, Windows is a resource hog, and seriously makes me wonder how much faster HDDs and other components all wear out in a Windows computer vs. a Linux computer.
Let's not even talk about how much activity goes on when Windows is not in use overnight XD (defragging and doing other crap that makes the HDD run full-blast nearly constantly)
Upgrading to Linux from Windows 7/8 and completely rejecting Windows 10 is the best course of action for everyone. Dual-boot until you ween off the Windows-only games and start playing only Linux games or play them via WINE.
