Both are great as are all the survivors. Random group that would never be caught together outside of the outbreak circumstances but they make it work. Not dying is a hell of a team raising morale booster.

Zoey=great at being more grounded in reality lore-wise (a College shut-in who survived because of not being in contact with alot of people and joined in with the group of survivors had to kill her parents and became more hardened because of it). Really gets along better with louis since they're both more normal while bill and Francis are more outcasts (bill being a vet and francis being a biker ganger).

Rochelle=sassy and somewhat comic relief but also caring. Really wish they fleshed out the 2nd group of survivors like the 1st group (they did a good job in the comics tbh). Really would've liked to see their backgrounds more in comic form. We get a good idea about Ellis and Coach (ellis talks alot about his former life and friends while Coach feels more like the unofficial leader because he was a former teacher / coach and played in a football team before his injury so he knows how to strategize).
not so much Rochelle nor Nick; especially Nick that's a con man which raises more questions than answers.
You seen the survivor profiles too?

yes but i meant go more in depth like their backstories and some more idea of their personalities like the L4D1 survivors in the comics. They really showed how they acted before during and after the outbreak.

I think doing L4D2 comics would be good except for Nick. Keeping him as mysterious as possible helps, but it didn't help he eventually "grew" with the survivors (albeit not so much). Seeing him as an outcast is fitting especially in a life/death situation and his arrogant, cynical personality. Wish they did Francis the same way, but Valve like(d) to bend to the community.

In all seriousness, both Zoey and Rochelle are cool characters. The problem with Rochelle is that a lot of Rochelle's voice lines haven't been used for automated dialogues, and like a very large amount, something in the ballpark of 30% of existing lines. And for that matter, Rochelle just pales in comparison to Zoey, since Zoey has a lot more creative, memorable voice lines.

However!! However. That problem can be easily corrected by installing epsilon modified talker, which brings back lots of removed voicelines for Rochelle and all the other seven survivors, which is an awesome variety enhancement and adds tons of character development/personality for all eight survivors, Rochelle included:

So yeah, there you go guys. Without epsilon modified talker (vanilla), Rochelle is a bland, uninteresting character, Zoey is a lot more interesting. With epsilon modified talker, Rochelle is an actually cool, enjoyable character, with her own sense of humor and personality, just like Zoey or anybody else.

i never knew why they recorded extra voicelines and then cut them out of games. Like what's the point of it then just playing with house money i guess.

Then the ironic part is that they add new ♥♥♥♥ to the games and they gotta re-hire them or ask them to record more voicelines. So they make MORE voicelines and never use some / most of them. It's pretty funny / weird. Like just have them say a ton of letters numbers sounds and words and then just have a mixer sound board put them altogether. We have the technology now to do so lol.

If you didn't see any of the GMOD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the past, 12 years? It's been too long- anyway, using each and every syllable to construct a word is to say the least abhorrent. It's no cost bringing them in for voice acting anyway. It's rumored Francis' voice actor died in 2016 following a cop shooting by mistake. Eric Ladin (Ellis) pretty much doesn't exist in social media anymore and Hugh Dillon is touring with his decent-but-not-good-enough band. Surprised no one utilized any of this. Hopefully nobody will know Eric Ladin used to spew racist stuff in one episode of Generation Kill- WHOOPS spoke too loud. Anyway, most if not all voice actors were cheap as hell, even if talented.

With the way Valve works it never plans out ahead. Ending to HL2 (including epistle 3), Portal 2 (arguably) and L4D2's were all just bitter-sweet cliffhangers. Valve does work with the situation though but they know they can't guarantee themselves to do any work. They could've, but we damn know they won't in a million years.
