Are we still getting the last two DLC characters?
I think this is a question worth asking since the devs have recently announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Maxi Boost On for PS4 only, which has me greatly concerned about Bandai Namco Studios' willingness to continue their PC support moving on from Tales of Arise. Cuz I don't think i'd be the only one who'd be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ about having to buy a PS4 just to keep playing a game that I already sunk $152 CAD, a lot of beer and a bottle of Fireball and Smirnoff Peppermint on.

Dude, Bandai Namco ain't 12 guys in a basement coding 15 games. Bandai Namco is N teams of N number of people testing (HAH), developing and working on every game they own. Imagine like a 50 man team/project devs, testers, projects managers whatever else working on a project such as SC6. Has nothing to do with any other game.

Is this a troll?
I've always said that Japan hates PC gaming. You guys didn't listen and now the creators of SoulCalibur are releasing a game that won't be on Steam. I think our best shot at SCVI's continued PC support lies in the success of Tales of Arise at this point.

the very real possibility that folks on PC will likely have to buy a PS4 just to play an up-to-date version of a game that they already spent $150+ on PC.

I think i did myself a favour by maining Cervantes w/ Azwel and Geralt as my secondary cuz I don't think i'll be buying the season passes when i have to double-dip on SCVI

Let's see here: SoulCalibur VI is made by a company originating from a country best known for its hatred towards PC gaming. The creators of SoulCalibur VI are releasing a game that won't see a PC version and we haven't even gotten all the DLC for SoulCalibur VI or Code Vein yet.

I think the concerns for abandonware are pretty valid at this point. And looking at Ace Combat 7's forums, I think it's also a matter of even deserving the developer's support in the first place. If we're not complaining about HOTAS, then we're complaining about 21:9.

Not really. If you seriously believe that you have no idea how game development works.

They're not going hold releasing the last of S2 DLC for the simple fact that if they do, they're going to have to deal with plenty of lawsuits from the S2 pass holders for not releasing the content that was sold to them.

I guess to find an answer to the "PC or not PC" question is the success factor of the Steam version of SC6. As long as the game is selling good, they'd be going nuts cutting off a precious market.

However, I would feel really bad about no new SC content :-(

I think it's more of whether or not they continue to see a reason to put their games on PC. I don't think i can force you guys to buy Tales of Arise, but I would suspect that most of the folks playing the game has spent about the same amount of money that I have on SCVI. Having to buy the game on consoles would be an insult to that investment.

There's no reason to be worried.

See: https://store.steampowered.com/developer/BANDAINAMCO

They have lots of games on steam already. Dragon Ball Kakarot just came out 4 days ago.

There's no point in being overly worried just because some game that is less known is getting out on ps4 only.

If ToA is a good game, why not bying it? Due to performance and because of possibilities of modding I always prefer the PC version of a game, not forgetting to mention the way better control options on PC.

Hopefully, Bandai will not abandon the PC...

I think i've pointed out Japan's hatred towards PC gaming. And most of the games on that list are Bandai Namco games in the same sense that Life is Strange and Call of Juarez are Square-Enix games. SoulCalibur, Gundam Extreme VS, Tales of Arise and The Idolm@ster are Bandai Namco games in the same sense that Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are Square-Enix games.

Yes, but hatred is an emotion. Emotions aren't that important to a business. What you're proposing is highly irrational as they would just say no to a lot of money.

That "hatred" you're talking about would've stopped them years ago to publish on steam. However, they went on steam with bad Dark Souls ports etc. and that stuff must've made them enough money to consider steam for newer products.

Even if they're not the developer of many of those games they're still the publisher. And it seems they make some good money.
