Correct. SoulCalibur V was a nightmare in both the roster and the story. SoulCalibur VI is a soft reboot (alternate timeline) that covers SoulCalibur II through SoulCalibur IV in terms of the timeline. It makes several hints to the alternate timeline, especially if you play Cassandra's character story.
Aaah. Figured. Id imagine the old story was a mess.
If you come to like SC singleplayer content, I recommend you to play thru 2 and 3-the best ones- which most of sc6 content comes from both games, especially creator. SC 3 has the best and most huge content overall, more than sc6... and without any dlc involved.
SC5 was indeed a mistake which lead to SC6 being a soft reboot.
That's why I love SC6, some characters don't really even have circle imputs worth bothering about.
