wind turbine facing matter?
Is this meant to onlyl give power in a sandstorm?
does its facing matter?
the little one looks like its designed to work from any direction but the propeller one not so much.

storm makes most power

doesnt look like it i have 2 placed opposite directions and they are generating exactly the same amount of power next to each other

well opposite direction with a propeller would be the same in essense.
its the 90 deg from the other that would be a drastic factor.

well if they only work one way, then the wind would have to be facing into them, like solar effectiveness, any other direction would see a difference in power.

which leads to believe 1 of 2 cases, its not being done being made, or direction dont matter.
cause you can only place them on exact 90 deg angles, which dont make sense for wind.
cause they dont have the angle setting like solar does.

i still have to test it im on europa and during the storms the power, with 9 of them mind you, isnt spiking, but during normal day to day wind it gets up higher power generation than during the storm. plus they dont generate power until you finish making them so.... lol

yeah direction doesnt matter i just placed them in all 4 directions and toggled a storm and they all independently spiked 10kw inpower

Remember to keep the two defined correctly.
Turbines need to be built in a tunnel where you have different pressure from one side to the other to make them turn.
Upright wind turbines just need wind. Useless on the moon and probably other places but like on Europa it's a primary source.
As to the original question, I don't know if their facing actually matters but it just makes life easier to do it anyway from a cabling standpoint if nothing else.

Worse, you can place them pretty much anywhere in any angle and they work, i placed them in a inner yards, direct behind a wall, pretty much any place you SHOULDN'T place windturbine and thy just worked. Only place they indead didntt work is indoors :P

Guess wind is represented pretty basic in the game,

If wind_force => 1Kps,
Then Turbine_power = true
Turbine_Power = WindForce / MaxPower

As this is imho only explanation why i getting away with the most unlogical Turbine locations
