incredibly laggy?
was so excited for this game and i just tried it out and it is soooo laggy. wondering if it's happening for everyone else because it's a new game or if my computer just isn't taking it? :-(

EDIT: turns out I was being stupid and finally found the video settings from the main menu. Couldn't find it while in game. Works like a charm now I have the settings down. Thanks for everyone who tried to help! :-)

Maybe you are not at 30 FPS or 60 FPS. You can check the framerate using a Steam setting.

I am slightly below minimal requirements in terms of GPU and I have 25 FPS at 1600x1000, which can feel laggy but I blame my PC specs.

What are your PC specs?

Edit: Actually, turning the shadow setting down a bit, I have the same framerate at 1080p with all other settings maxed.

Not seeing any lag at all so must be your PC

Solid 60 for me, using a GTX 970

No lag on my end at all, might just be your computer sadly =[
gtx770 2gb, e3 1230v3, 8gb ram, getting 50-60 in high settings

I have an r9 280x and the shadows keep making me lag, wtf

True. The shadow setting has a huge impact on the apparent stutter, despite the framerate being roughly the same.

I have a r9 380x and had to turn down a couple of the settings to make it run at a smooth 60fps. Not the most optimised game ever it seems so I can see it lagging badly on weaker hardware.

For me I have to turn the shadows completly otherwise I get around 30fps, I think the shadows are extrely poorly optimized. Without shadows I can easily get 60. I don't see why they had to use dynamic shadows for objects that don't move(like walls etc.) and why the grass shadows had to be so detailed, really seems silly,

Might be an AMD issue

might be but it still sucks, shouldn't be too hard to get that right nowadays, especially since the ps4 uses an AMD card afaik.

PS4 also has trouble getting to 30fps half the time so...lol

You can only change graphics settings before you enter a level
