My 9 year-old niece loves this game but she can't make some of the grabs. Any way to adjust things for vertically challenged peeps?

When I start up the game, I spawn under the map. I've played this game for a while and I've tried everything from restarting the game data, to trying to reset the save. If you can patch this or tell me how to fix, it'd be much appreciated!

When I was a kid and it was called "Outside". And it had way better graphics.
