This is why Tiny Thor isn't released yet
Hi,

there are some discussion going on here and some people are already angry at me because Tiny Thor isn't released yet.

So, please let me explain the current situation:

As some of you know I'm a small indie developer and sadly in mid of 2018 I was nearly running out of money so I had do to contract work for nearly 100% of my time.

Since then Steffen worked a little bit on the level design, and Chris and Fabian finalized the soundtrack (except of the title track that will be finished soon), but beside of that not much happend on the production side.

The good thing is that I have saved enough money (again) to continue work on Tiny Thor soon. We are also in neogitations with a publisher. Weather if we can close a deal with the publisher or not, development will continue in 2019.

I've also thought a lot about if I should just finish the game without putting in too much additional stuff, but I finally came to the concluision that I don't wanna do it.

I know, a good released game is better than a never released perfect game, but I've already put a lot of my private funds into it (>100k$), and as I already told earlier it's an absolute honor for me that I'm working on this game together with two of my absolute heroes of my youth Chris and Henk (indeed their early work got me interessted in the game development topic). So I will do the best I can to make Tiny Thor an outstanding game and not just a good one. Because - I don't know if I ever get this chance again after Tiny Thor to work with them on a game, so I really need to make sure that the result is the best I can achieve (together with my small team).

I hope you understand, but I fully understand your point that this is very frustrating for you (indeed it's also for me).

I wish you all a happy new year and I hope to finally finish this project in 2019.

Jochen

Thank you for sharing this. While I was disappointed not to get any news about this game for such a long time, I do understand the difficulties that come with projects like this, especially for small developers. I wish you all the best for your future and the continued development of Tiny Thor and I remain a potential day one customer.
May 2019 be a great year!

A very nice statment !
I'm really looking forward to this game. There is no better than Chris Hülsbeck.
It reminds me of Turrican. I hope you get the game finished no matter if 2019 or 2020.

Completely understandable. I'm glad you at taking the time to continue to pout in the work you fee it needs. Thank you for the update.
Cool, keep rockin at it, this is like some super version of the old 16 bit stuff!
Bro don't let anybody bother you. Great job and keep up the great work! :steamhappy: :praisesun:
Thanks for the post; I just came across it after looking around on itch.io. Maybe some type of crowdfunding from serious supporters (is there crowd funding platform that works that way?).

Who's angry? I'm excited!

Is this a Steam Exclusive? Will it available on itch and GOG?

Yes, indeed thank you for sharing! Chris Huelsbeck is a GOD having done Turrican among other game soundtracks. I am not mad at all! As long as the game releases at some point, and I can play it and have fun, you have a happy customer. Take as long as you need to polish it and refine it. Just be sure to leave regular updates in the forums like this to make people aware that the game isn't dead, and so they don't take it off their wishlist. Best of luck!
Is there any new pics you can share?
Yeah, any updates actually? We're half way through 2019 now.

Oh it looks like the graphics style was completely revamped. New trailer as well?
That is some serious work gone into this.....Thanks for the update.

I dunno if it's just me, but it looks like the entire graphics style was completely revamped. iirc the sprites were kinda small, now they're quite large and more detailed. Maybe I am remembering that incorrectly tho.
Yes its a complete redo by the look of things....it looks and sounds great.
