Hi I am one of the original kick start supporters and this game is a rare gem where the devs never forgot that they sell the game on steam, so they still take the time to read steam.

Other games(wont say names to avoid slander or advertising) often forget they sell on steam and demand you use their own forums or discord or something else to communicate.

While these devs do have their own site, and a discord, they are very down to earth and communicative.

As for the game

Worth? Subjective. But I think it is yes.

Can you play solo? 100%

Pause? Not sure, I only play on US official server, so I cant confirm.

The devs are among some of the best developers I have ever seen. As much as I would love to say I get paid to say that, I dont. This is my opinion and I am sticking with it.

The game now. Graphics wont win any awards today, but the gameplay is engaging and the survival is fun. Survival crafting but not in a voxel base world. More emphasis on realism than not. So dont expect to be rocket launcher from a 30 story building and blowing a 5x5 hole into the earth. Instead think Night of the Living Dead in a county side suburb.
@Harambe I bought this game some time ago, but I just played it one night with my wife for 6 hours straight. This last week or two we put in another 30 hours and we just can't get enough. The map is gigantic, the ability to change the settings to nearly anything you want is awesome, the hunting is out of this world fun, and the fighting seems solid to us. We have a neighborhood house that is somewhat out of the way (just above a town) and found an RV to travel the roads for several days at a time before coming back home and dropping off our hard-earned loot for upgrades on our defenses, electrical grid, and everything in-between. Just a blast to play!

Well this sounds fun.

With all due respect, what did you do? It's a bare bone game. The map is wide open with barely any buildings to loot. If you find buildings, they're all the same. Don't get me wrong, I've played 7D2D since it's inception and I see no difference. There's no dynamic to the game or purpose. You went full release with 1.0 but what did you do? Basically, try to survive as much as you can looting the same buildings over and over? If someone is to make a game like this, I'd expect 8 years spent to be 100 times better than 7D2D. Your game is fun for the first time and has a lot of potential. 8 years and this is what you've done? I have a feeling you're squeezing as much as you can.
It's a fun game, but it's more worth to play with friends.
I'm playing it solo and I am having fun with it. I just picked it up about 10 days ago. I like some of the mechanics of it and the map and the driving works well enough in single player for it to be fun.

It's hard to say though, might depend on what you hope to get out of it. I think I'll probably get about 100 hours out of it. Maybe more if I can play some coop. But I tend to play most things solo and this one does scratch an itch that other games don't.

But it's not perfect!

I tend to be ok with a game being a bit flawed and buggy so long as I can work around it and still have fun with it.

I'd say for the sale price it's worth it, maybe not at full price?

I did write up a review for it if you want a more in depth idea:

Yep well worth it! i have only play solo and have 50+hrs. Yes good fun.
I'm playing it solo on my YouTube channel if you want to see some coverage of it solo. I like it a lot, some odd mechanics and the crafting takes a little bit to get used to. No bags or backpack like in other survival zombie games, so you will have to adjust to that, but overall it's a fun game and yes solo is good
Loot that you gather disappears. all the upgrades i had on my car vanished. this game is bugged as hell
As much of a bad rep as AAA companies get, at least they tend to deliver a 1.0 with significant content behind the label and not just slap 1.0 on the alpha 0.5 version. After seeing some lets plays of the 1.0 I find myself agreeing with Ankido 100% and wondering "where's the rest of it?" and "How is this worth 19,99 and not 4.99?"

Leading me to the obvious question, is more content coming in future patches? Is there a roadmap for this content we can follow?

I am also on of the original kick start supporters and i have to say the game has come a long way. Its had its ups and downs, there was a few versions i just couldnt play but now i like it. It is a decent enough game. The only real gripe i have is the lack of base crafting that is in game and the organisation of the crafting menu. When i mean base crafting i mean the things i can build for my base like furniture or a damn ceiling light.

The melee combat could be better but the gun play is alright. I aslo like the idea of using an original building as your base and not building your own.
