Solo, Pausable Version?

Is there a way to run the game where I can pause it if I'm playing solo? I tried hosting a non-multiplayer game but that didn't work. With Kids, it just because hard to not have to get up and take care of something. I find I can only play games I can pause. I'd love to play this but hoping there's a pause option.

No, sorry this isn't an option. You can set yourself in God mode when you have to take care of the kids.

What the chances it could work like State of Decay? Where is you're the only person the game pauses, but if there are multiple, you can't pause it. To your point Bird, I funded this game so long ago I didn't have kids then. I'll look up God mode.

ikr, I think I was still in high school when I funded this. I didn't have a way to pay for it so I got one of my younger friends to kickstart it for me :')

Its not built like State Of Decay. Its built to be an online game so even with the option to start your own game you are just starting a local server. Its still a server. It would require a different version of the game for a pause function and they are not going to maintain two versions of the game for the small amount of people who want a pause option.
