It has improved, and the developers are working really, really hard which is definitely admirable, however, the game still just isn't there yet - or at least, it's not for me. It's missing a purpose. Give it a try though. If you played it on day 1 (as did I btw), the game has massively changed since then.

Day 1 as in before steam release or Day 1 when it was dropped here on steam? Eh, what does it matter, those were both unplayable mess states. The game has definitely come a long way since either of those days. The issue I have is the game is too easy once you get past the first initial little slog. The PvP is alright but nothing to rave about in the sense that there is not really anything about it that goes above and beyond what we all know of PvP in these sorts of games.

It's less of a walking sim now, that's for sure, mostly due to the vehicles. I also havent experienced any of the "zombies hitting you from 30ft away or from under the ground" issues I experienced when it first launched here on steam.

Still a lot of things that need improving though but all in all, I enjoy the game now and am glad I backed it all those years ago on kickstarter which isn't something I can say about most kickstarter projects I've backed.

As the game stands currently i do consider it to be worth $25 against other games out there for the same price.(it does go on sale now and then if your trying to get a deal).
to get a good positive experience on pvp you do need to server hunt a little. As for pve me and my partner will play lan when we get the chance and being in lock down its kinda stopped her from burying me in the backyard.if you are still unsure i would suggest finding an up to dateish review on steam as they have been very informative (or at lest the gameplay has been ) in the past
Games a lot better than release, but wont go there. Mechanics have been improved with crafting, cooking etc. Still enjoyable as a game. Definitely worth a second or even a third look if you have it. Worth the price, At moment i would agree its worth it. More players means more infusion for the devs. Would hate this gem of a game be lost in the ether.
