1. Load your Clear Save
2. Select what you want to carry over, making sure there are check-marks in the boxes to the left of the things you want to preserve.
3. Hit Start Game
4. Progress the story until you have control at the start of the Old Schoolhouse and Sara tells you to get your weapon.
If you don't get what you carried over then, something has gone wrong.
Are you sure you had check-marks in place?
Anyway, I recommend carrying over Max Bonding Points as one of the things, because it lets you see every bonding event, which in turn lets you see almost every character's ending as well. That's four points, though, so for your last thing, I'd carry over Sepith and Mira.
Carrying over items would probably be overkill, as having all that stuff would make the already easy game too easy.
For some reason it doesn't work for me after checking the first few boxes until my 5 points are gone
I went through the old school house and also did the practice day event that sarah gives when I attack the tin object thingy with Gaius and Elliott in my party. I'm at level 7 and beating it easily, but wondering where all my sepith and mira and weapons and accessories are
I looked under DLC as well, but see nothing that looks familiar
I do have the option from the clear save to check the boxes but nothing carries over
Now I wonder whether I should start a new game from the game load screen instead of loading clear save and starting from there? I can't see that working though. I'm at work right now so have to wait until I get home tonight before I try something else
It would seem that there is a small window within which to activate the carry overs into a new game start and that if you miss that window then you are basically stuck in a new game from scratch
That window would be right where Sarah tells you to equip your weapon just before you enter the old school house the first time. If you miss that small window then you are stuck
I must have just added the base master quartz and base weapon thinking that I could change it out at any point later as i felt i needed better weapons, gear, accessories etc
I started a brand new game from the clear save and opened the quartz menu right at that window and voila all my lvl 5 master quartzes were right there available. So was all the other quarzes. When I then looked at equipment all my other stuff were right there
I'm just trying to do a quick run through the second time on nightmare in order to unlock the rest of my achievements before I play CS2. Didn't want to grind lvls and gear again.
Thank you for all the input and help :-)
That really sounds odd, since you should not be able to progress without pressing "Use" on your weapon, and that should automatically give you all your NG+ stuff. You should not be able to miss it at all.
Are you sure you don't want to just go on to CS 2 immediately? If you're trying to run through CS 1 again, it runs the risk of you getting bored and stopping. You could always go back to get achievements later. But play how you want.
Do combat link levels/exp you already have carry over? I mean, is that an option?
Each time you clear the game, you get 5 points you can use to spend on stuff to start out with in the NG+, stacking up to 15.
That is an option. Combat Links in fact can be carried over at no cost.
Well, I missed that window that's why I posted here in the first place looking for answers
That said, what I don't know is whether I screwed up when loading from the clear save menu. I don't think I did but I also can not guarantee that I did not. So, that is the grey area here
What I do know I did is that when I was at the old school house at the screen where all of class VII go to their respective area containing their own weapon and arcus, I just added the first weapon for Rean which was the base first sword he gets at the start of the game
Now the second time I restarted from the clear save after I came to this forum and read the post from Stabbey, when I again reached that area in the old school house, I actually added a few items from the DLC menu and then went to the quartz menu at which time I saw that the whole of my arcus was unlocked. Later I noticed I had all my weapons and armor in the equip menu
I will have to do the clear save screen again in order to reproduce where I went wrong. I still believe I missed a window at the old school house as I wasn't really pushed to get all my gear right then and there. I was quite happy having access to it when needed but would push ahead playing with base gear and arcus just for play fun
It's no big deal, but I definitely didn't hallucinate the whole thing. I do accept that I screwed up somewhere, just not quite sure where
Maybe this thread would bear value for one other person that ends up doing what I did :-)
Happy gaming
Thank you! What about difficulty? Can you modify the difficulty on NG+?
Yes.
